So ladies, wondering which you find to be "more" successful? Or have you tried something different that was a HUGE hit? Neither have me THRILLED but I feel like we need SOMETHING. Thanks as always.

We're doing candy buffet, but we love candy. what about a candy buffet but with old school candy....ex. bubble gum cigarettes, candy buttons, wafers necco, taffy, wax lips candy, fun dip, etc.

I am doing both, but if I had to pick it would definitely be the photo booth.I was just at my fh sisters wedding and she had a candy buffet.it was pretty but it was barely touched..I just think the guests will have more fun with the photo-booth especially with different props and they get to take them home and we get a book with all the photos in them too.the candy isn't much of a memento since it will be in their tummies..I think if you had a theme for your wedding you could add cool props to go with it..but even with no themes its still fun.

    With a beach theme,you could add beach hats,giant sunglasses,a seashell necklace,or a *lay*(not sure on the spelling)..to the props!

Maybe you could do both and combine them with each other. Sometimes found objects at a reception make for the most creative props. So you could do something like a candy buffet with giant candies and cookies. You might end up with two guests captured on camera trying to catch jelly beans tossed into their mouths or a giant candy cane tugging someone by the neck. And there are all kinds of prop ideas to go along with the nautical theme of your wedding.

You mentioned you attended a wedding that had a photo booth, but that you weren't super impressed. Was it by chance a small vintage or traditional photo booth? If you're looking for something a little different, you might try what is often referred to as an open-air photo booth. The space is larger and more people can fit in every shot. My experience is that this opens guests up to more creativity and entertainment.

My man loves ice cream and my grandfather works for Blue Bell so I want to have an ice cream bar, with couple of different flavors and lots of topping options. If I can't figure out a way to use one big container for each flavor I am thinking about putting personalized wrappers around individual one serving ones.

We are making our own photo booth it's fh DIY project Smiley smile, FH and I weren't sold on getting stuck with lots of leftover candy so we aren't planning a candy buffet, we will have kettle korn and pretzels out during dancing though to keep everyone thirsty Smiley winking.

@ brandy v, a sundae buffet is awesome!

Instead of a candy buffet what about a mini milkshake bar? Maybe your caterer can put something together… I've seen it on some catering menus. It would be super retro and who doesn't love a late night milkshake?

The booth was a traditional one. I mean it was fun jyst not super wow to me. I really just wanted to do something not so expected. I feel like its just over done. Sigh.

We did the photobooth and dessert buffet and then sliders station at midnight. The guests loved all of them.

Aimee I agree, the photo booth is getting overdone. They're at every wedding now. What about a caricaturist? They're usually a 2-5 minute sitting per drawing and the quotes I received were reasonable. We're already over budget so I couldn't add them in :-(

Kim I thought about that and even posted on here asking if people thought it was "cheesy." Just sooo over a photobooth.

I couldn't vibe out what people thought/felt about it.
