Cake... How much are you paying for yours??

Irchykk, on August 3, 2012 at 10:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 57

Our venue has the cake included, but I dont want their cake.. I dont really eat cakes, accept this 1 cake from this bakery called Venieros in NYC, they make the best cakes (or so I think at least) ... so I asked the venue if they would give us some $$ back since they are not hte ones baking the cake.. so they will give us back $300 from our overall price ...

& the cake that I want from this bakery is $1200 & thats including delivery price to NJ ... is it too much?? how much are you paying for your cake if its not included in the venue price ..

For me, that is steep. We want to spend (cake, delivery and cutting) between $800 but no more than $900.

Uhm. My cake is free, Fh's mom's friend is amazing and making it for us. However, we're going to give her about $200 when we get the chance.. And even when I had someone else look the most I was quoted was 450$.

Around $1100 for 135 servings, plus a separate gluten free tier, an additional top tier, and fresh flower decoration, that included delivery, setup, and an upcharge for multiple flavors and fresh berry filling.

That's downtown Chicago at a really pricey Polish bakery though.

$4-$6 per guest is typical for most wedding cakes. We're doing 4 Cheesecake Factory cakes for our 40 guests at a cost of $200. The traditional cake we were going to get is $280.

When a venue provides a cake, it's "included" not "free." Best believe you paid for it. lol

    Ha ha, very true Donna.

Our cake was included too, but I think you're getting a decent deal. If we wanted to bring in our own cake, they would NOT have deducted anything AND would have charged a cake cutting fee.

Well when I called the bakery in NYC that we want it from the girl told me $900 original price.. but I am 110% sure that will not be that price, they will add extra somewhere for something.. will be speaking with them tomorrow ...

& since the venue taking off $300 of the bill because we not getting the cake thru them, I figure it is not that bad, to get a cake of my dreams ...

Fruit Supreme cake .. we are doing 3 tiers & that will feed about 100 people...

the cake is seriously the most deliscious cake I have ever ate. in the summer there is a line that is over a block long .. in the winter 1/2 a block on a weekend.. that place is amazing.. & if I can not have anything else at my wedding, that would be ONLY thing I would ask for thats extra .

The bakery I'll probably use starts at $3.50 per person. Since cake is not a priority to me, I'll most likely have a very simple two-tired cake. I'm anticipating 80-100 guests ($280-350).

Well I know we are getting married in the Mtns of NH so it wouldn't be as expensive as your cakes. We are doing cupcakes and are ordering about 15 doz priced at 432, 125 for delivery 40 if i want a top tier for cutting and between 50-100 for set up if i dont do it myself.

We are having 4 different flavors and 1 additional flavor for the gluten free folks.

grand total 697 if we have them do set up and delivery, 472 if we pick up and set up ourselves.

Oh and we are expecting aprox 100-ish people and that some folks would prob snag more than 1 cupcake.

My cake was included in our venue, they use a very popular vendor I am familiar with.

Of course what they offer is the most basic cake, so after add ons it was like 200

$330 for 12 8" round gourmet flavor cakes. That will feed our 120 guests. My grandmother is making me a tiered cake for Nick and I to cut. And if it's like my sisters wedding, there will be more than enough cake leftover!
