Pretty much barely there but with what will (for me) be a bolder eye since I'm using a sparkly rose gold shadow and actually wearing mascara. Light face coverage, light highlighting, light blush, neutral lip.

    I went bold.

I am a lover of makeup, have been since I was a child. I love any excuse to do something more glamorous!

You DIYed your own makeup for your wedding (except for the eye liner if I remember correctly) right!? How did you get so good at makeup? I used to avidly follow YouTube makeup tutorials but it never came out great. I thought about maybe taking some classes because I'd love to get better at it!

    Yes, I did!

I tell people that it takes lots and lots of practice, but having a good eye and the right tools also makes a difference. I've always been really good at looking at makeup and recreating it. I did that even back in high school - I always copied Christina Aguilera's makeup. (She was my idol at the time). I basically taught myself through trail and error before YouTube existed. One of the very first people I followed was xsparkage and temptalia. Over the years, you grow gradually get better at your craft. I have a true passion for makeup, so I'm sure that helps, too!

Talking to the makeup artist I hired for my bridesmaids, she was surprised to learn I get so "made up" every day of my life. I mean, I spend at least an hour on my makeup every morning, but I am so used to it that I consider it normal.

I did apply for a job at MAC Cosmetics, and they offered me a position, but I sadly had to turn it down because it was so little hours and too far of a drive (I'd be making less). Who knows what I'd be doing now (probably freelance makeup) if I had accepted it. Now I'm at the point where I do not have to willpower to go back to school, nor the resources. (I'm pretty certain in order to practice freelance makeup, you need a cosmetology license.)
