Tiannay, on May 31, 2011 at 6:50 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

Ladies I went to Michael s and the runners that they have are so thin. Do you have any ohter place I can get a runner from that may be of better quality but not such a big difference in the price. the one at Michael is $40.

For 40 buck a piece, can you layer it twice?

Wait until Joanns has a sale/you have a coupon and just buy a ton of fabric? do you mean to thin as in not wide enough, or to thin as in the materiel is thin?

Some rental companies have them for about the same price.

We're getting a velour runner which is much thicker, I've never been a fan of the paper runners and I hate it when other people come in a roll it right before the bride walks in, I know I wanted mine to be there already.

A friend of mine had one at her wedding, I'm waiting for her to come back in town so I can get the info from her, I know she got it through her florist with her flower package.

Could you put a layer of plastic sheet under the runner to support it?

Omg bee careful if you are outdoors with aisle runners! my mom walked me down the aisle and the aisle runner we got was essentially paper. she was wearing heels that kept punching holes through the thing and i basically carried her down the aisle...this started me giggling which then lasted through the whole ceremony (i giggle to hide my emotions, it's my thing lol)

What about just getting a roll of material. Depends on how long your isle is as far as the cost. It will be much more than 40.00 but it will be safer than paper. Or just dont use one at all. We are getting married in a chapel that has shiny marble floor...so we are not using a runner at all. I hate those things. They never roll out right. LOL

Walmart has them for $20. My friend got hers from there and used it outdoors and it wasn't thin at all!

I meant too thin as in the material... I was never lucky to find any at walmart and my floor just isnt pretty enough to have not have one... i do hate the pulling out before the bride thing i must rather have a good one and everybody use it. unfortunately all my fabric stores suck i cant even find a good button for my ring pillow.. I'm gonna check the website def, thanks ladies for all the advice

I got a 3.5 x 100 ft runner from www.save-on-crafts.com for $13. It was a pretty decent thickness for me. Unless you want a really thick one, you'd have better luck buying a fabric.

I'm actually renting a white carpet from the rental company. It's pricey, but I am not concerned about tripping on it. It will mean that we will not allow our guests to use the center aisle in the church before the ceremony, but I'm fine with that.

I purchased my runner from this site- I LOVE it. I also painted our name and wedding date on it. http://tableclothworld.net/servlet/Categories?category=Xtras%3AAisle+Runners
