Are you Doing a First Look?

We will be doing a first look because we are doing or bridal photos before the ceremony. We plan to take family photos during the cocktail hour so then we know all the family members we want in the photos will be there and we don't risk making our guests wait two hours before dinner since the ceremony is already later in the day (5pm).

We're going to do first look by ourselves before I walk down. I would like to get some photos of me and my fiance together before our wedding.

We are keeping it traditional and waiting until I walk down the aisle during the ceremony.

We haven't decided. I want to do one bc I am going to be so nervous! I choke up and get embarrassed when I have a lot of attention or speak up.. I'm so scared and nervous about saying my vows lol. I am hoping a first look will help calm me down. Future husband wants to write vows, yikesss

We're definitely doing a first look. I have extremely high anxiety always so having that time to spend with my fh will make both of us more calm. We're also renting out a bridal cottage on the property of our ceremony/reception site for our bridal party for the day before and after. We have a really large bridal party- I have 6 bridesmaids and 2 bridesmen, he has 6 groomsmen and 2 groomswomen- so photos are gonna take a while lol

We won't be doing a first look, but I'd like to do a blindfolded kiss. Kind of as a last kiss before our first kiss as a married couple. Our photographer will be FH's SIL so I'm hoping that right before the ceremony starts, she can blindfold him and I can give him a kiss. Then I will leave and he will walk down the aisle with his mom.

I don’t know..I like the idea of a first look and I like the idea of down the aisle. I guess me and FH will just have to discuss it and decide together!

I was very against doing a first look for a while because i wanted that first moment of when he saw me walking down the aisle, but after sometime to think about it is more practical for us to do a first look! My FH made me feel better when we decided to do a first look by saying that his reaction to me walking down the aisle will not change if we do a first look or not. It will also help get all our pictures out of the way and be able to do them before it gets dark due to our wedding being in November and not until 6pm. We can enjoy our cocktail hour that we are paying alot of money for and mingle more with everyone. Another plus is our wedding party gets to also enjoy the cocktail hour!

Aw, Crystal! It's definitely common to feel nervous before such a big life event! A lot of couples have said they are doing a first look to help keep them calm, so, hey, it might actually help you!!

I am praying FH changes his mind because I want to do a first look so bad. I hate the idea of him seeing me at the same time as everyone else, and it just makes sense to get most of the pictures done before hand.

I don’t think we’ll do a first look! We’ll knock out all the pictures we can before the ceremony and do the ones where we are both needed afterwards! I still have a few months to go so things could change.

Yup! Do it. We did 90-min photo session before our ceremony for first look and pics all around the resort property. We were excited but way more relaxed and our photos were amazing!!! We walked down the aisle together but we still had butterflies so nothing lost by doing first look.

We are doing a first look because I don’t want to feel rushed during pictures. We are, however, doing 15 minutes of photos in the golden sunset light after the ceremony.

We will see each other the morning of the wedding, since we are sharing our hotel room, lol, but he won’t see me in my dress until I walk down the aisle.

We are only doing about 30 min worth of photos after the ceremony, so we will be able to get to the reception in a timely manner.

Yes we are doing a first look! We wanted to get photos done so we can go to our cocktail hour, and I wanted to relieve some anxiety by seeing him before I walk down an aisle with 125+ people staring at me 😳 He didn’t want to at first, but I convinced him. We’re staying in separate hotel rooms the night before the wedding, and when I told him we could all go down and have breakfast together the morning of the wedding he freaked out and said we’re not supposed to see each other that day 😂 So now we have to stagger our breakfast times lol.
