Anyone not do bouquets?

GummyBearSTL, on September 23, 2016 at 1:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23

Buying seems too pricey but DIY, seems too daunting. Any suggestions for a very simple DIY? Or inexpensive alternative?

You can always just carry a single flower. Simple and pretty.

Maybe don't do real flowers, I'm still debating on what to do because of how expensive flowers (fake and real) can be. Good luck!

Some stores have pretty pre-arranged "bouquets" for a vase. I've seen some pretty enough that I've just thought "dang, I could just wrap a ribbon around this and walk down the aisle". Costco actually had one I loved. I'd look at trader joes, costco, whole foods, local grocery and see if they could do a couple of cheap arrangements.

I ended up going to the grocery store florist and picking one out that morning. I also got the BMs flowers and flower girl's flowers there. My sister ended up taking apart their bouquets and redoing them so they'd be different from the MoH. It turned out beautiful!

ETA, my eldest (in the solid dress) is holding simple calah lilies for herself and the mixed bouquet with the tie on it for me.

Costco and I think Sam's Club offers bouquet kits that will be shipped to you. I think it is about $100 for 4 or 5.

I loves me some flowers. Actual ones. Not lanterns, not parasols, not whatever that purple lollipop thing is (I know, it's an allium).

talk to some florists, give them a budget and let them tell you what's possible. And don't do giant wads of baby's breath. It smells terrible.

If you're looking for a diy that's not too daunting, I always thought these flowers from Hobby Lobby were fun lol.

I ordered all of our flowers from our local grocery store. We are paying $300 for 4 bouquets and a small toss bouquet. I thought that was an amazing deal and I know they do a great job.

I am doing burlap bouquets I ordered off of Etsy. They are so pretty and totally fit our rustic theme. Also, the girls can keep the bouquet for a centerpiece or something decorative at home if they would like. It was SOO much cheaper than real flowers, but still very pretty. Still debating on real or fake flowers for the centerpieces... i need like 28 so it gets pricey either way.

Personally, I really like real flowers for bouquets. Maybe check out Bloominous, it's half florist/ half DIY.

    I'm doing PAPER flower bouquet!

It's a fantasy kind of theme and I love to read so it fits me better. Flowers are whatever to me. Lol

I originally wanted to do an origami cascading bouquet, but after looking at a few tutorials, I was like, nope! (Plus, I'm not THAT good, lol)

I may try to talk to a grocery store florist morning of. I've looked into Costco's i think. I guess I'll keep perusing.

I'm getting married in December and I've toyed with the idea of one Amaryllis plant as my bouquet: they're in season with a large bloom and very inexpensive compared to a full bouquet.

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you they have pretty pre-made bouquets. I'm doing lanterns in place of bouquets for my bridesmaids.
