Any other ladies into Yoga or Hot Yoga?

Amanda, on May 31, 2012 at 6:01 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 12

I have seen lots of posts about other workout programs, but not much about Yoga. After taking a long break from hot yoga, I finally got back into this week. I love it. I feel so de-stressed, flexible, and amazing afterwards! I love regular yoga too, but there is just something about hot yoga. I have a class in 45 minutes - can't wait!!

Hot Yoga is doing yoga in a room that is between 100 and 105 degrees. I know it sounds awful, but once you get used to the room, it's not so bad. You sweat a lot!

I used to do a little yoga last summer, and I just got the workouts out, and decided to start again. However, do you have any recommendations for beginners? I will be very thankful. Also, I have never even heard of hot yoga. It sounds good, though.

I used to do a lot of pilates and yoga type things in my dance conditioning class. i really miss it. I think people don't realize just how much the non-aerobic stuff can help.

Love hot yoga. I just hate how expensive it is!!! Around here if you're not a student, it runs like $100/month - gah!

I do beginner yoga, because I just started and am so inflexible I can't touch my toes. The chair pose kicks my butt if that says anything.

I do yoga on a semi irregular basisSmiley smile) I have done hot yoga in the past I think I lasted three months. It was after my accident so wasn't the right fit at the time. I really miss the sweating aspect of it. Unfortunately I moved back home and we don't have it hereSmiley sad( like Kris s I also found it really expensive. I think I was paying 150 per month and that was 10 years agoSmiley sad

Kris S. - I agree! It is so expensive. Its $90 a month here. I hadn't been since we got engaged because we are saving for the wedding. There was a groupon last week for 10 classes for $19, so I jumped on it. I might suck it up and pay the $90 once my 10 classes are up and the wedding is over. Its one of my favorite workouts.

The sweat is amazing! Plus I have to drink so much water before, during and after class, my body feels so clean after a hot yoga class! Agreed, it's totally one of my favorite workouts too!

The studio near us gives a really great discount if you buy a year up front but eesh! They used to do 3-month specials........hmmm I wonder if they're still doing that.....

I teach yoga and cant imagine life without it, I teach many varieties (but not hot, I just dont like it). Most of my classes are pretty intense, surprising to many first timers that come in expecting to stretch a little an take a nap, but the beautiful part is they keep coming back. Every teacher has their own magic, I love taking others classes! Yoga has carried me through the hardest times of my life and its the only thing keeping me from going crazy planning this wedding! Anyone with questions, feel free to ask, I'd love to help anyone interested begin or deepen their practice!
