38 days until my wedding and my dress is not in!

GettingVargased, on December 16, 2015 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I am seeking advice from others who might be or are aware of a similar situation. I ordered a Morilee dress from a local bridal shop on June 24th of this year. I was told my the owner of the store that I would be receiving the dress mid November. My mother also ordered her MOB dress and was told it would arrive first week of December. All of these dates were given verbally and not annotated on the receipt. We are now 38 days away from my wedding and neither dress has come in. The store keeps telling us that it will be here Friday and then Friday comes and goes and its the next Friday. This has been going on for a month. We have written correspondence with the store owner on the delay of the dress and every date promised fails to deliver the dress. I have told them that if the dress not in by tomorrow that I would like to move forward with a cancellation and full refund. I am left with little choice. I am not sure what to do beyond this point and am desperately seeking advice! Thanks!

I think it's probably the bridal store not the designer. My MoriLee wasn't supposed to come in until March and it came in the first week of December. With your wedding so close I would actually go to the store and speak to a manager face to face about it.

Oh no!!! Same with what Kelly said, I will go to the store and talk to them and make sure you have in writing that if the dress does not arrive by certain date, you are allowed to cancel your order and get a full refund. Also, just to be safe, go look for other wedding dresses just in case the dress does not come in time

Can you contact Morilee customer service to see if it is actually scheduled to be delivered?

What OKD said. I would go straight to Morilee. It sounds more like this is the shop dropping the ball.

Mine was very late. Did not come in until December 6th. It had to be reordered in September, after the original came in ruined from the designer. It took 11 weeks from the time the new dress was ordered until Dec 6th to get my new dress. I hope that it arrives in time. Good luck!

Thank you all. I did contact the dress manufacturer and they cannot give me information because the store not I am the account holder. I have in writing by the store that it is supposed to arrive no later than Friday but again they have kept saying that. I am waiting to see what happens this week but I do already have an appointment with another bridal shop next week.

I had a similar issue. I got in contact with another bridal shop that did sold my designer's dresses. She called the local representative for the designer (same rep as my shop) and she was able to get the "scoop" that the dress was ready and waiting at the regional warehouse, but the bridal shop had never paid them for the dress - even though I had given them the money for it.

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! The week my dress was supposed to arrive, my bridal salon called the designer to make sure it would be shipping out on time. And found out that the designer accidentally cancelled the order. They said they would not be able to make it in time, but due to written correspondence with my salon, they saw that this was there error and did a rush order at no charge. It arrived two weeks ago. I know it's so stressful. I suggest going to the salon in person and asking them to call the designer while you are there. Good luck!!
