195 days and I just have no motivation...

*SoonToBeMrs.Kelly*, on January 1, 2012 at 9:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

So we have about 195 days till the wedding and I have absolutly NO motivation to plan anything. I am very excited to be getting married to my FH and I cant wait till the wedding day. I just am over the whole planning. Sad part is we really havnt even really started. Its getting to the big stuff now and I just feel like I have no energy for it. I am to the point I dont want to answer the phone when my mother calls cause I know what she is going to want to talk about lol!!! How do I get out of this mood Smiley sad Hoping it passes real fast!!!!

Take a break! Everyone needs a breather from things, so walk away, do other fun things and that wedding bug will come back to bite you :-)

Hey date twin! I don't really have any advice, I really enjoy wedding planning, but I also don't have anyone breathing down my neck about it. Tell your mother you are taking a few days off, no talking about the wedding, no thinking about the wedding, etc. Maybe that will help you get your wedding mojo back. If you need any help, feel free to pm me!

Im thinking I am gonna just tell my mom and a couple other ppl I need a break from it just for a few days. It just seems thats all people have talked about for the past six months and its kinda getting to me lol. That probably sounds horrible!!! Just need a break. Im thinking FH is to that point as well!!

I was thinking a weekend away might help!! Like to the beach or something! Smiley smile

I think the "take a break" advice works better for some people more than others. For me, it felt like I was avoiding planning and making decisions and me and my fiance were not talking about the wedding enough...every time I'd see him we'd watch a movie or go to a friend's and not talk about it. For me, really buckling down, letting go of perfection, and just deciding on one thing or make progress in some way gets me more motivated. Then I get excited and research more, shop around, ask others for advice, etc. I think it depends on the way you plan, but it seems like everyone hits these slumps where they don't want to do anything wedding related and then they cycle back to getting excited again.

Take a break weddings can be overwhelming and all the people that you love feel invested in your wedding. I would be more concerned if you wedding was 60 days away and you didn't have things together. I didn't get my venue until September with less than 180 days until I get hitched and now things are starting to roll right along Smiley smile Happy planning!

Planning a wedding isn't for every one, it can be hard to make the choices. There are a few big choices such as venue, photographer and music that should be made early on. Then you can relax because the other little details, while some might want them arn't necessary. If you know you only have 3 vendors to pick now it will seem less overwhelming.
