Dinner Entree Choices

Spaghetti, on October 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

We haven't done a taste testing yet but I was curious which 2 choices would you offer? This is a plated dinner that will also have soup, salad, vegetables and a starch. I just want an unbiased perspective without looking at prices!

**Vegetarian meals will be handled separately as well as any other dietary accommodations. I'll be sure that they have just as tasty of an option as anyone else Smiley smile

Sautéed Chicken Breast

Filet Mignon

Roast Pork Loin

Roast Pork Florentine

Grilled Salmon Filet

Chilean Sea Bass

Roasted Home Cooked Turkey Breast

Mustard Crusted Grilled Lamb Chops

New York Cut Strip Steak

Chicken Wellington

Filet Mignon Wellington

Roast Prime Rib of Beef

Chicken Cordon Bleu & Bechamel Sauce

As much as I love Filet Mignon, it's a smaller portion that people aren't always accustomed to. (sadly CAUSE IT'S DELICIOUS)

So I would go with the NY Strip & Chicken Cordon Bleu (Gob opportunity: "with club sauce")

I would go with the filet and the sea bass or the chicken cordon bleu. It all sounds really good so I don't think you can go wrong!

Agree with @MFB - sea bass and NY strip. We had beef tenderloin and Pacific sea bass served family style, and they were a huge hit. Especially the sea bass.

@MFB and @Tarheel What was the ratio between sea bass and steak at your weddings?

I would probably choose some kind of beef and the salmon. I am having prime rib and salmon at mine.

@Spaghetti - our dinner was served family style, so no pre-wedding choices. Everyone got to try everything. There was no leftover sea bass. There was some leftover beef tenderloin. Everyone raved about the food, but the sea bass was the biggest hit.

@MFB I agree about the beef. I'm kind of torn about offering chicken or fish though. FH hates fish so I know what he'll say but he loves beef so it doesn't even matter what the second option is to him anyway.

You can never go wrong with Filet Mignon...... now I'm craving it! Oy!

And the salmon would be good, too, for a different option.

Based on the responses we got from our guests (we offered filet, scallops, chicken and vegetarian) I would go with filet and the sea bass. I think a lot of "vegetarians" eat fish and it's a nice alternative for them (and our wedding coordinator dissuaded us from salmon because it's hard to cook appropriately for a big group). Almost no one ordered chicken or veg. Everything sounds super yummy though!

Filet or NY Strip and Sea Bass. I'd definitely offer a fish, and Salmon can be SUPER polarizing. People either love it or hate it - so maybe not the best option. Sea Bass is pretty neutral as far as fish goes!
