Different tiers different flavors?

Sos0033, on June 14, 2017 at 9:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 65

Did you do all (or most) of your cake tiers different flavors, or keep the same flavor throughout?

We're keeping it the same for the sake of simplicity.

We're doing our cake the same while we have 2 tiers, but we're also having cupcakes and are having 5 different flavors of those so we mixed it up that way. If you're just having a cake I'd do a different flavor for each tier. People can be picky with their cake lol

I am doing double chocolate on the bottom and top and double vanilla in the middle Smiley smile

We are major budgeters so we are getting a 3-tier cake from the local upscale grocery store, the good news is that it will serve 80 people with set up and delivery for under $200, the bad news is that we are limited on flavors... the good news is that double chocolate is our favorite flavor anyway so we don't mind!

4 tiers, 4 different flavors. White with strawberry, blue marble with fudge, chocolate with fudge and caramel, and red velvet with fudge.

    We're 100% chocolate people!

We did two dif flavors on a 3 tier cake. We picked our favorite for the top tier to save, then one layer of two top choices to be served. We did Bailey's and strawberry shortcake. Both amazing but both pretty simple

I'm so excited to have different flavors with each of our three tiers, I hope I have time (and room) to have a bite of all three!

We had the same flavor (red velvet with nutella mousse) on each layer. It was a smaller cake since we only had 55 total people and a part of the cake was all decor. This pic is from the bakery as they were building so not the final but as you can see, a good chunk of the already small cake was just lego bricks made out of fondant. Having different flavors on each layer didn't end up making sense for us. We did have a second cake from the venue (not displayed) incase people didn't like red velvet.

I had just one flavor. It was delicious, and we realized that, unless the layers are all cut and labeled before anyone gets any cake, people often just take what's closest when they get to the cake table. Or if the caterers are serving the cake, they generally just hand people a slice without asking which of the three or four flavors they'd prefer (faster that way).

We have 3 tiers with 3 different flavors. They were all so good we really could not just pick one for the whole cake!

Yes, three tiers, three flavors (not everyone likes the same thing).

    My daughters cake was:

Bottom layer: Pink Champagne with Strawberry filling

Middle Layer: Poppy Seed with Raspberry filling

Top Layer: White cake with Lemon filling

All butter cream with white chocolate calla lilies.
