Yes! I was adamant that I wanted a purple wedding dress. I looked everywhere -- I didn't go to bridal shops at first. I looked in Macy's, Saks, Saks Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, and a prom store. Not much stock in purple in styles that looked good in me. So I switched my tactic. In the end, I got a white bridal gown that the designer agreed to make for me in purple!

My dress was white and it was my second marriage. The first dress I picked was a champagne colored ball gown. It was beautiful but then I thought: I had a struggle with my weight the first time I wed and this time I wanted EXACTLY what I wanted: A simple A-line dress with lace. Found it on Amazon for $60! No regrets. Wear what YOU want to wear!!! This second wedding was a noon ceremony with a lunch reception so it was perfect for the venue.

I had been in professional costume design (theater etc) earlier in life, and that with watching SYTTD, helping a ton of friends pick out their own dresses...I just wanted something different and magical. So I started looking at my favorite designers. I knew Vera Wang usually had her campaign looks in alternative colors, and I saw this dress online and stalked it. There's only one in the world (since it's a 2020) so I followed it to a trunk show in nyc. I lost 14 lbs just to try it on! And I saved it for last. I ugly cried, and even my mom teared up.

Sorry for the wall of text. I love my dress. I'm getting married in a library atrium and it will be an enchanted forest vibe without being too theme-y.

Mine is champagne with ivory overlay! It’s gorgeous and still traditional. My sister in law wore a navy colored dress that was more prom then bridal.

My dress is blush! I also considered blue, gold, lavender and silver wedding dresses before deciding. Blush looks great with my ghost white skintone, white and ivory make me look ill.

I tried to post this and I think my laptop ate it. Trying again: I chose a purple dress, which was always my goal. But here are some of my close runner ups! (I really loved the navy with the gorgeous plunge neckline and tulle bottom, but the drop waist was uncomfortable.)
