Did you ring the bell at David's Bridal?

When I went to David's bridal and found my dress, it was impromptu and I didn't expect to find the dress. I had gone with a bridesmaid and she said when she got married and found her dress, they had her ring a bell. I decided on the dress that day, but couldn't purchase it. This past weekend I went to a different DB location and tried on the dress again and while I was there I heard the bell my BM was talking about. Neither DB's had me ring a bell. Did I miss out on a big experience? Did you ring their bell?

I'm surprised they didn't offer it to you! I rang the bell and heard several brides ring the bell while we were there and every time the whole store would cheer. It was fun but it's not something huge that you're missing out on.

I got to ring the bell. It was nice but dont feel like it needed to be done and I wouldn't mind if I hadn't rung it.

They tried to get me to ring the bell but I don’t want that type of attention on myself so I didn’t. What made the experience wasn’t the bell, it was my mom being there with me that made the moment so important.

If the bell ringing is super important to you, you could always go in and put it on and ring it, if it’s the pictures you wanted. If you didn’t have an appointment and just ran inside to purchase the dress really quickly, they probably didn’t think of it, since you didn’t decide on the dress at the appointment and they were super busy. They may have just thought you already rang the bell.

I personally don't think it's a big thing, they had me ring the bell and I felt silly doing it. My sales consultant ran off to get the bell and I was like no, really, you don't have to but she insisted

I haven't had the experience of dress shopping yet, but I was in David's Bridal this past Sunday looking at bridesmaid's dresses. It was pretty packed in there, and two girls rang the bell while I was in there and everyone clapped and cheered. They looked super happy. Honestly, it made me really excited for the day I try on dresses!

My consultant asked if I wanted to and I declined. I don't see it as a big experience.

Yes I did!!! I didn't know anything about it before going in. But my consultant was amazing!! When he saw me tear up over the dress, he went and got the bell, and explained the tradition to me. I was a little embarrassed, as the shop was packed that day with other brides and their entourages for shopping. But it was so fun, and the whole place erupted in applause when I rang the bell!!! I think I was the first one that day, so everyone was super excited!

I did! Twice actually. I went looking back in November and found what I though was the one but wasn’t ready to order. I since changed my mind and went shopping at a few other stores. Did end up purchasing a dress yesterday at DB and rung the bell again. 2 different stores in different states.

Just an update!! I went back yesterday with one of my bridesmaids ( I had gone with the other 3 local ones the night before) to try and find her dress ( we did! Another thing that I don't have to worry about!) and while we were there I asked the saleswoman who also happened to be a manager if I could try on my dress (I already bought it and it's at my MOH's house) and everything, and get a picture of me in the dress holding their "i said yes to the dress" sign, and explained how I wasn't given that opportunity when I found the dress. So the saleswoman got the dress and the bra and slip and found the veil I chose and grabbed a tiara and gave me the opportunity to ring the bell! I know it wasn't a big experience, and what not, but I'm glad she gave me the opportunity. I got the bell ringing on video and I got the pictures I wanted!

I did ring the bell but it was kind of odd. I didn't get the sign (which I would have preferred as to ringing the bell). There were 2 other people in there and numerous workers, and none of the workers came by to say Yay, Congrats, but I've seen them do it to others. It was odd. I haven't had that whole "this is my dress" moment with tears and a big reaction.. I'm hoping once I get it altered and such I can look in the mirror (and get a good picture of me in it, because I have none) and have a moment.

I actually hated the concept of the bell. I was so awkward and indecisive that it never felt like the right time.

I picked out a dress with my BMs and they insisted I ring the bell. By the next day when I went back to order, I had already changed my mind and ended up ordering a different dress so my video of saying yes to the dress isn't even with the dress I will wear lol
