I made one when FH and I decided to get married. He proposed later with a ring but we were already planning the wedding together.

Right when I had moved in with FW and we had the “marriage and babies” talk. Since we were on the same page and I knew we were going to be engaged a little sooner than most couples, I started a Pinterest board for fun

Kind of guilty?? I made an "engagement ring" board, to find ideas for my FW's ring.

Gurrl I’ve had one since the 8th grade so I have plenty of ideas lol. It’s titled “But it’s engagement season, mom!”I really love how Pinterest made it so you can have different sections in your boards. My life is so much easier!

    GUILTY!

I have had my wedding planned (to some degree) since 7th grade. I would revisit it from time to time to add and delete as my interests changes.

I had a hidden one! I’ve got a mom board too, but that’s also secret, and for years from now! Ahaha! It just seemed smart to get a head start and dream a little. I actually changed my mind on half of the things I’d pinned as soon as we got engaged, though!

I definitely did. I even had it secret because I didn't want my sister to steal my ideas. Now we're engaged at the same time and I still have it secret for that exact reason, I added FH to it though so he can see. I love my sister dearly but she is very much a "follower" when it comes to ideas, fashion, trends, etc.

    Doesn't everyone?

At least, that's what I thought before reading through this thread!

I did, but not because I was planning a wedding. There were just certain pins that I would see even when I was single as a pringle that I thought would be a good idea. Having pinned all those things 2, 3, even 5 years ago has been SUPER helpful!

I did! I figured, speak it into being and now, it is so. Granted, I am not keeping all of those ideas, but it was a nice start.

Hahaha yes! and it was such a great feeling when I saw it and was like "gosh I get to actually use it!!!" turns out I end up going a much different direction then my "pretend planning" mind was, but I still have some elements there, just for fun!

I definitely did, mostly because I had friends getting married and my feed was full of their ideas. So, I started a secret board that I called "W" and as I got more serious with FH, I started actually pinning things I thought we would like. When we sat down for our first planning session after our engagement, he told me that his mom said pinterest would be helpful and I said, "I have a board already, you have no idea how much I pinned..." haha!

I definitely did. There are VERY FEW things from it that are actually getting used for our wedding. Planning is much different when there's a price tag attached and it's not just a fairytale! Smiley laugh

To each their own but I think "creepy" is a bit of a strong word. You could make the argument it's a little silly or kooky (I wanted to say "crazy" but that's too strong as well but closer to the sentiment). Creepy implies there's something disturbing or gross about it and I think that's unfair. There's no reason to put other women down. Weddings have always been an interest of mine, even objectively (who doesn't secretly love to watch Say Yes To the Dress?), and I'm glad I have stayed informed on things like dress styles, décor trends, and other ideas that have helped me tremendously because I've been able to be a helpful bridesmaid many times, plus it's overwhelming to just start looking for wedding inspo from a Google search by the time you're actually ready to plan and need to start making real decisions. I was able to find my perfect dress in one day and have no regrets because it's a decision I've been researching and thinking about for years. Took me about 2 minutes to come up with a color scheme and have never looked back. Knew I would book my venue the second I went on the website, because I had a good frame of reference on costing and other important considerations. I know it's not just me - I've always liked to daydream about my wedding, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It doesn't mean I wasn't completely rational or didn't take my time finding a great guy that was worth marrying, or that I'm not infinitely more excited for our life together, but my wedding is going to be one of the most important days of my life, and I don't understand the huge stigma against even discussing weddings until you're suddenly engaged and expected to plan the perfect one with no prior knowledge? Is it weird to pin ideas for your home even if you can't afford the renovation right now? Or cocktail ideas for your next party even if you don't know when it will be yet? I get that not every girl feels the same way about weddings, but that doesn't make me creepy! Sorry, not to attack you but your comment bothered me.
