Diamonds and Pearls!

Jana, on December 10, 2015 at 10:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Some of you have posted some beautiful bridal jewelry on here. Are you all buying your day of accessories on-line or going in to stores to see it in person. To date trying to figure out if I want to wear a matching set and what I want to wear and if I want something jeweled matching in my hair is turning out to be my toughest decision. I must be overthinking it.

My wife ended up going to charming charlies so she could try it on. She went with two bracelets layered on the same hand and a crystal head peace. It was all very different but looked great together. I think that she didn't go too matchy. She also did diamonds and pearls.

You can't really see the smaller one, but one bracelet had the pearls and one was thin silver with an anchor and the crystals on it.

I got my jewelry from an etsy shop called LuluSplendor. It has a combination of pearls and crystals, exactly what I was looking for. It is risky to order things online sometimes, but I was so thrilled with the jewelry when it arrived. The photos don't even do the earrings justice.

I got my headpiece from Etsy & earrings from eBay. I couldn't love them any more than I do. Not wearing any other jewelry.

I don't have this veil, just the headpiece.

I'm wearing my mom's pearl earrings as my "something borrowed" and I was gifted my grandmother's pearl bracelet for my "something old."

I did a Kate spade necklace and studs. It was probably a heavier statement necklace than most brides would choose- but perfect for me.

I actually took a serious risk and bought a matching set of pearls from amazon from a very reputable company. I wanted to wear pearls and wanted them to match (since pearls are so different it would be very hard to find a bracelet and necklace for example that matches well). Well, they came in the mail a week ago and match perfectly. I have never ever given such a good review for a product.

@Jenn B - that is gorgeous on you.

My floral crown was a go big or go home item for me that I didn't want to wear anything else besides my e-ring and the band after the ceremony. I did end up wearing a cameo ring on my other hand that was my something blue. I got it from amazon - super cheap costume piece.

photo when I got it in the mail that I sent to my MOH for her opinion.

I picked up some earrings at Shane Co because I had a gift card. That will be the only jewelry I wear, FH isn't a huge fan of jewelry.

@VM I love that hair piece! That is so beautiful. We have a Charming Charlie's close to where I live so maybe I'll go check that store out. I've never been. Thanks!

I love a lot of the stuff on Etsy and have a few different sets in my cart to choose from, but one of my BMs suggested that I go somewhere to see stuff in person, but I don't think the Etsy pictures could be too far off from what they'd look like when they show up.

@Tania I need to consider if I want to do a bracelet or not now. My dress is covered in beadwork and I never thought about a bracelet getting caught in it. That is something to think about.

I just purchased my earrings from Khols.com. They were having a 20% off jewelry so my earrings were only around 18 dollars. The thing I liked about khols vs etsy or ebay was when I get the earrings, I can return it in store if I do not like them.

I bought my jewelry from the bridal salon at 50% off. It made life simpler for me because I could see it with the dress and I liked how it looked. They advised me that it may be easier than buying something later and wondering if it "went" (which I'm now thinking about with my shoes). I ended up getting a set of pearl earrings and a pearl necklace.

I wore my mom's white/yellow gold diamond earrings as my something borrowed, my little diamond pendant was a wedding gift from DH (it used to be his earring when he was in that phase), i had my own bracelet. My headpiece was a present from my mom and we got it at the salon my dress was from.

Jewelry is a big deal in my culture, apparently an Indian (India) bride is supposed to be adorned with 16 different ornaments. I got some of the "ornaments" from charming charlies, the headpiece was designed and made by my college friend, some of other pieces were sent from India, as well as gold earrings and necklace. My mother in law let me borrow her necklace from 1913 which I transformed into a long necklace, it is their tradition that women have worn this necklace since 1913 on their wedding day. I was honored to wear it. Once the ceremony was over (and pictures taken) I was so ready to "take it all off."

For the reception I had a custom made pearl, gold and emerald set , it went great with my ivory and gold wedding dress.

I borrowed my mom's double strand pearl bracelet. My dress's neckline did not go with necklaces, so I opted for earrings. I couldn't find what I wanted so I had some made at a local jewelry store. They were carved mother of pearl. I love them! They felt very vintage to me. I wear them occasionally when I'm dressing up Smiley smile

I am wearing the first necklace FH bought me. It's not fancy but has special meaning to me.
