Diamond vs. gemstone vs. cubic zirconia

A.) I don't care what people think.

B.) An expensive ring doesn't mean there is any more or less love.

C.) I use my hands so much that I'd be afraid of losing expensive stones.

I do have to admit that I am slightly obsessed with Morganite right now.

I've never cared about that kinda stuff. I'm not too materialistic and when someone gets me a gift, or ring 💍, it's the thought/sentiment that counts. My engagement ring is a blue sapphire gemstone that belonged to his great grandma. It's beautiful. Normally I wouldn't have picked out sapphire for myself but i absolutely love it 💙

I have morganite , outlined by small diamonds. I know it was only like $600. merely due to the rose gold prob and the tiny diamonds. I told him if he got me a ring over $800 I would give it back. I’m not a flashy person. And I’m going to get a chevron shaped rose gold wedding band for the bottom and a crown type of rose gold for the top.

My center stone is a Moissanite and I’m obsessed. Soooo sparkly in the sun!!

I actually have two rings and I'll be adding a third ring that will be my wedding band. My FH bought my rings from Zales right before Christmas so he got them during a big sale. The original prices of my rings were about $700 and $300 but he got them both for around $750. I told him before he started looking around that I really didn't want him to spend over $1,000 on my ring. I would of never been comfortable with a very expensive ring but there's nothing wrong with someone who wants that. It's just not a priority for me.

I'm sure it is gorgeous! I love blue and the first jewelry Adam bought me had blue diamonds. If I were to replace my ring, I'm not sure if I'd do blue diamond/sapphire or morganite.

No, it wouldn't bother me. My engagement ring has real diamonds that came from rings from his grandparents, but for my band I have been looking at something with CZ or another stone. My thought is we can always upgrade later if we want to and we wanted to spend the money elsewhere 🤷

My engagement ring is a CZ, and no one knows the difference. I wanted a big pear-shaped stone, and neither of us wanted to spend a lot of money. It cost $200 and I found it on Amazon. I might go the same route for my wedding ring.

Does it matter? Absolutely not. The price tag or size associated with an engagement ring, or any jewelry/gift for that matter is irrelevant.
Now, before we got engaged, I tried to be ok with something that wasn’t a diamond because I just wanted to get married already!! But, I don’t own anything nice/diamonds, and i knew he really wanted to get me a nice diamond. So i kind of really wanted one. (I wouldn’t have said no had it been something else) So I didn’t push it and waited until he was ready. My ring cost a lot more than I wanted him to spend, but he picked it out and it’s small (under a carat), which i wanted. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
So no it doesn’t matter, but yes I wanted diamonds. You can tell me how worthless they really are, and unethical, or whatever. I wanted one and I think there’s nothing wrong with that. Just as there is nothing wrong with preferring something else.

My ring is morganite with diamonds. The diamonds were a compromise. I don't usually wear them but FW chose my ring she understood my center stone was not too be diamond, the morganite goes do well with rose gold, my favorite metal color.
