Is there any way to incorporate the two? like having our destination wedding and honey moon then the reception back home? has anyone does this? if so how does it work out?

Sara, Florida is nice in October. Mostly out of rainy season, less humidity, and a little cooler than summer. We got married on Oct. 10 here in Sarasota.

We are doing a destination wedding in Vegas for around 20-30 people. This was the best decision for us because anything local would have escalated to 300+ guests and $20k+ budget which I was NOT happy about. By going the DW route, we were able to save money for a good downpayment on a home instead of putting it all towards a venue that accommodated so many people ( half of which are not even close relatives). Plus, our venue in Vegas offers online streaming so those who don't go can still watch us. This will not be considered our honeymoon but it will definitely be a mini vacation for our guests. Ultimately, it's what's best for you and your FH. In the end, what matters is the marriage, not the wedding.

We've traveled with couples for destination weddings that have a vow renewal and a party with their friends and family that couldn't make it. People have renewals that scale from a backyard BBQ to a full on wedding, it's all your preferenceSmiley smile
