So, I went to a destination wedding last month in Jamaica. The bride and groom received a final headcount 3 weeks prior to their wedding. They did not implement deadlines for RSVPs or
Deposits. I mailed my invitations out 15 months before the wedding to give guest enough time to save for it. My wedding is 10/10/2020 and will be held in Antigua. Yesterday, I sent the following message out below. We are 11 months out and wanted to remind everyone. The resort has 294 rooms, so space is limited. I received a lot of thank you’s and positive responses. Some may say that it’s too soon, however I think it’s a benefit to have milestones and deadlines when planning a DW wedding. Thoughts? cfb_1326129.jpg

Hello Sherry, great points. I haven’t formed my bride tribe yet. I will do so once I’m confident those people can attend. I don’t want them to feel like they have to attend bc they are part of my bridal party. I personally feel like it’s okay to request time of way in advance as a courtesy to your employer. Everyone has different policies at their workplace, so I see where it differs w others.

I began telling my guess I was having a destination wedding when we first got engaged 2 years earlier then our wedding date of June 5, 2021 at an all inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We have blocked 40 rooms for family and friends. Any rooms not booked and paid in full by December 1, 2020 must me dropped. While our guess will still be able to book as part of our party up until March 2021, rooms will be based on the resort's availability. We sent out save the dates 9 months before the December drop date for the rooms, and our guess seem to really appreciate and welcome the advance notice. Like you, I plan to send out a friendly reminder 4 months before the drop date via email or text. Possibly, another 1 month before. The more advance notice you can provide your loved ones with, the better!
