I'm going thru so many boards to find this answer, and I just can't seem to find it! I am getting married on Halloween, which falls on a Wednesday this year. I'm going thru so many boards to find this answer, and I just can't seem to find it!

I am getting married on Halloween, which falls on a Wednesday this year. It is a destination wedding, most will be flying from within the US but a lot from out of the country. I also forgot to mention this is in New Orleans - so VERY destination and very popular time in town. Is June too early to send out our invitations? Everyone is asking questions and looking to book their flights and hotels before prices become outrageous. People want more info and to feel secure. Also, people need to save money for the trip. Thoughts?

Could you send out Save the Dates ASAP? That may be helpful, especially since a Wednesday requires people take PTO, not take their kids trick or treating, etc. I'd send out invites in August, but maybe Save the Dates now?

Whew!!! We chose a smaller tourist spot for our local reception and hotels sold out 6 months before our event! Hotels were crazy expensive too: $300-$400 for nice, $200+ for Best Western. Ugh.

I was going to say they should have been booking rooms and saving money back when you sent save the dates. Once they receive that then they should know they will receive an invitation. Once they have booked everything (or not) then it should be easy for them to accept or decline when their invitation arrives. You can probably send the invites out in late August...around 8-10 weeks for destination is often recommended invitation wise, especially for those out of the country folks. Mail takes longer to get to them. But yea they must aren't going to your website to get that information.
