Delayed Honeymoon

Hannah, on August 26, 2019 at 12:39 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 35
Is anyone else having/had a delayed honeymoon? If so, what destination, how far out from your wedding date, and what was your reasoning?

We’re going to New Orleans a month and a half after our wedding! Our reasoning was a combination of finances and timing - we could use a break financially for a few weeks, and thought New Orleans would be really cool during Halloween time (and my birthday!) neither of us have ever been but my FH has ALWAYS talked about going.

    Your honeymoon sounds cool!

FH is a teacher, so we're waiting about a week after our wedding to go to Florida. This way he could be with his students during finals!

We are getting married in June and are thinking about waiting until the end of October to go. We want to go to Disney for a few days because FH has never bee there. I have been there a handful of times so I want to go in October to experience the Halloween setup. From there I suggested a cruise but FH wants to go to Europe or something.

Hey!! I live in New Orleans!
    yall will love it.
Also, we are getting married in January over MLK weekend. I’m still in school so it will be delayed until summer maybe... I really want to go to Italy/Vatican to get our marriage blessed. If that works out I’d love to go after my graduation. If not, we will have to do something in the states. Also, my fiancé doesn’t have vacation time until next summer.

We haven’t even given honeymoon any consideration yet! We are already in the process of buying a home, so that on top of the wedding makes budgeting a little tight! I think we’ll be waiting until after wedding to make any solid decision on how far out we’ll do it!

We are! We’re going to Hawaii about 8/9 months after. Our reasoning is that FH went back to school last year and he has classes right after the wedding weekend and it’d be too much for him to miss. He graduates in May so we’ll have more time to save and we can celebrate that as well and be fully relaxed. We took a weddingmoon for a week in Miami last month as a way to celebrate the wedding and will go away just for a night after the wedding.

Ours will be delayed about 6 or 7 weeks. It was due to a combination of FH's work and when the cruise we wanted to go on was scheduled to depart. FH works in sports and can only miss so many games, so we wanted to go when there wouldn't be any events going on.

We got married in May and haven’t planned our honeymoon yet. It’s all about making time. We have two homes that we got back and forth between and with his job and helping our friends and family we are always busy. I’m thinking Turks and Caicos this winter but I need to get planning.

We’re still deciding what to do but our wedding is in November and we may take our honeymoon in June. No reason to spend that money and take off extra work all at once.

We'll most likely be doing an Alaskan cruise and will be waiting until 2021 due to finances and planning the trip for the best time of year.

New Orleans should be incredible around that time.

We are getting married this October and will take our honeymoon next May. Between the holidays and our son's wedding New Year's Eve we could use a break on spending. Plus, we are going to Ireland with a few days in England and Scotland and want the best weather possible.

We got married in December and then went on our honeymoon to Maui the following October. We wanted to splurge on our wedding and have enough time to save up so we could then splurge on our honeymoon.

We are going to have a delayed honeymoon. Were from Tampa, but getting married in Savamnah. So, with time off work and a family vacation planned a month after, we are waiting until the following January or March.

We're going to go on a mini-trip 2-3 months after to do a "destroy the dress" shoot with our photographer in the mountains/forests of Colorado. But as far as a honeymoon that's more than like 4 days long, I have NO idea. Not for a year or 2 after (I'm in a Master's program until then)

We are getting married this October and not taking our full honeymoon until late spring 2020. We are going to Ireland and their weather is terrible there during the fall. So we are doing a 4 day minimoon right after the wedding in the mountains.

We’re going on a cruise to Cozumel about a month an a half after the wedding. We decided to wait for soo many reasons. We live in Michigan so we wanted to wait until it got a little colder here to go to the warmth, to be able to save more money for the honeymoon, to get our daughter settled in school, and our daughter (5yrs old) will be getting her tonsils and adenoids out a little over a week after the wedding.
