We are looking to keep budget down, plus some decorations are being provided by our venue (centerpieces, linens, napkins, dessert table, card box and gift table) and our DJ is providing the Photo Booth and uplighting. I am wondering if decorations are a must?

Not necessary, but definitely depends on what you’re envisioning for your wedding as well as budget.

It really all comes down to what your venue already looks like and what you want it to look like. Also, decor costs are going to depend on what you’re looking to do.

Nope. I barely had any at mine and I don’t think anyone truly cared for it especially if your venue is nice enough

No decorations arent a must, they just add to the festive feeling. One thing you could do is rent the decor and flowers, secondhand stores are great places.

Not at all, particularly if your venue is providing a lot of things. If your venue is pretty, by itself, you really don't need any decorations at all!
The only "required" things are - you two end up married, you feed/water your guests in some form, and you have a good time!

No. I think decor is necessary if you have to dress up or reimagine an ugly venue (think corporate banquet hall) or have a theme, but if the style of the venue fits the aesthetic you want then you really don't need extra decor at all, and simple additions, like gorgeous flowers, go a long way.
