Decoration Stress!

Kayla, on August 28, 2019 at 3:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
My FH fell in love with a venue that was pretty different than we had initially planned on. At first we were wanting to go for an outdoor romantic ceremony/reception but I guess it’s his wedding too and I can’t decide everything 😂🙄 now we’re doing a reception in a banquet room and now I have NO idea how to decorate! I’m not too worried about the ceremony space because it’s a beautiful outdoor scene, but I included a picture of their typical banquet set up and I’m not a fan 😩 an advice on cheap/DIY decorations for a space like this?

I think that drapery is gorgeous and definitely lends to the romantic feel. Can you get those fairy lights that go behind drapery to make it a bit more romantic as well?

Uplighting can change the look of the space without much money or effort. I think that would have the biggest wow factor without requiring you to revamp the entire space

It might be helpful to figure out what it is specifically that you don't like. There are alternatives to hanging drapes that you might like more. I think lights could also add a nice touch. As far as decor, I'm getting some really pretty mirrors/frames off of Facebook Marketplace and writing the 1. Seating arrangements 2. Quotes 3. Bar menu in calligraphy. Lots of pictures of the two of you might also make it feel more "you"Smiley smile

here's a super quick example of how you can change the color/feel. It makes it a little softer, and can be any color

First I would check with the venue to find out what's included in your package and what is extra. Then see what they recommend to make your vision come to light. Ask to see set ups of past receptions and inquire as to what the venue provided and what the couple brought in. The venue might have items on hand or might be able to recommend a rental company as well. Does the venue come with a Coordinator? If so, I would start with them. Best of luck - it's a gorgeous venue!

This does make it more soft! I’ll definitely have to check on what I can do with the lighting!
