Decor -- Glam, Romantic, Modern?

Simone, on May 26, 2019 at 12:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 23
So, here's my dress -- a sparkling glass beaded fringe, my destination venue -- a rooftop in downtown Tucson AZ, and two possible color palettes. Our wedding is 4/20. Originally, we were to be married in a lush garden ceremony with the berry palette, but now that we've switched venues and I have this dress I'm wondering if my ideas still translate. I think tons of details will get lost in this space but I still want it to be romantic with a touch of glam maybe? I'd love some ideas/opinions. TIA!

I think your dress is gorgeous for your venue!!! Omg, omg, the gilded age colors would rock. Very unique combo and gold/shimmers would be spectacular with your dress and venue (the bar is a shimmer gold, right? Fabulous).

Thank you! Yes, that's a shimmering gold bar. Not a huge fan of gold, but with that bar I can find subtle ways to work it in so it all comes together. Smiley smile

Yes, me too! I actually love both palettes. Maybe I can keep the teal and find some way to add the berry too? With such a bold dress I'm wanting more color.

I'm a huge fan of berry, too, don't get me wrong. Yes, and they are all jewel tones. You can definitely keep the berry or if you dislike the teal, get rid of it. All will work together. I think since you have that big, gold bar, gold needs to be one of your colors so it's not the big white elephant in the room. You've made lovely choices. So excited for your plans.

Yes, I think so too, about the gold. I actually love the teal. I'll try to find a way to bring it all together. Funny, because I have a shop where on Etsy selling vintage clothing for years and the 20s/30s is my favorite era, and without meaning to it's turning into my wedding theme lol Smiley tongue

You know, I was just looking at your pink berry palette. You can take the more Caribbean blue and sub teal and gold there, if you want teal. Then you'd have your pops of color. You'd have the best of both palettes. Sorry, to make so many comments. If we could edit, I would.

That makes it even more perfect!! ❤ It's a great wedding theme. I love the 20's!!! I have about 100 original sewing patterns from that era. What about your hair? Would you try a 20's style? Some are very glamorous. You've got this!!!

Not at all! I was thinking the same. It's just hard not being able to see it all laid out. Maybe I'll do a mock table set up at home. There are so many variations of teal. The coordinator said she'll take whatever we buy and set it up so I'll have to play around with it. I love your ideas Smiley smile

I have a few ideas. I can go retro or avant-garde. The last one is too much, but I'd love a rhinestone veil like this that covered just half my face, stopping above my lips.

Either color scheme works to me. The berry scheme is more romantic and posh. The gilded scheme is more modern and glam. Your dress fits in with either scheme. You won't go wrong with either of the color palettes.

I agree. I love all of these. You can mix avant-garde and vintage as you are aware. Are you planning on wearing a veil? The bridal cap is so unique and you could attach a veil to it. You could remove it after the ceremony. If you pull up 20's wedding pics, if you go retro, you'll see how they wore them. I'm worried if you wore the crystal studded ione that you'd have so much sparkle, that your face may not show in pics. Just thinking. This is so much fun. Your wedding is going to be perfect!!
