Deciding on table cloth colors, etc for my venue *pic

Sunny, on October 5, 2010 at 6:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

Help me decide what color table cloths I should get...

I'm expecting around 300 people, so around 38 round tables. I'll probably get chair covers also, so I need to decide what color for those too.

My colors are plum, silver, and white with accents of light purple. I also put up a picture of my flower ideas (my bouquet being all purple and the BM being dark and light purple).

For the table cloths I'm thinking either silver, white, or purple. And for the chair covers either silver or white with the tie backs, no bows or anything on them- just plain chair covers.

So, If I do purple tablecloths, should I do all white flowers for the centerpieces? Or if I do purple flowers for the centerpieces, do I do white/silver tablecloths (because it'd be too much purple)? LOL. Would purple tablecloths make the venue look a lot smaller?

I'm also considering some purple uplighting...I don't know what to do. HELP

I like the white table clothes with the purple flowers. So thats is not too much purple.

My concern would be matching purples.

I'd stick with white table cloths and chair covers, maybe a silver overlay and do a purple colored napkin.

Yeah, matching purples would kind of be hard. A purple napkin is doable.

I love the idea of purple uplighting!! I think you should do silver chair covers and purple tableclothes with a silver runner, because then you could still do purple flowers, and it would tie the silver chair covers into the table with the silver runner.

I like the idea of white table clothes and purple flowers but what about overlaying a light purple fabric over the table as well? So it'd go white --> light purple --> purple flowers.

Does the venue have linens, or are you going to have to rent them? You will probably be cheaper going with the white and silver over a specified color. But I think white linens are a very clean look.

If you are having purple uplighting, I would suggest that you go with the white. The uplighting will give the white a purple hue. The deep purple flowers would look really nice against the white tablecloth. I would add silver chargers to add a touch of silver.

What a lovely choice of colors. I will join the consensus and advise you to go with white tablecloths. They add brightness and are readily available which is a plus. LOL

We have the same colors!!! Except I'm not having the light purple! I love uplighting and am keeping my fingers crossed that it fits in the budget at the end!

I'm sorry I got so excited I forgot to answer the question. I am going with white tablecloths and the purple uplighting. If not uplighting i'm giong with white tableclothes and a purple runner.

Thanks for the input girls Smiley smile

Also, do you think tall vases for the flowers or what? I love the photo of the short flowers on the long tables, but I don't think it'd look right on my round tables. I want people "wowed" by the centerpieces.

If I go for tall vases, I'll probably do 1/2 tall flowers and 1/2 floating flowers/candles or something so theres not "too much" going on...

White tablecloths, purple chair covers (so they stand out, white would blend w/tablecloths); lavender runners; silver centerpieces/vases, purple flowers.

I think you need to first pick if you want the event to free deep and colorful, or light airy with touches of color. Then you will have your answer. If you want airy..white table/purple flowers..if you want deep.....purple tables/white flowers... Also keep in mind the time of day or night/ amount of natural lighting in the room, and season.

Also, if you need help with hair or makeup. Please be in touch!
