So my FH and I are looking at venues and we would.love to get married in June and it's realistic but stretching out budget as well as my parents who are paying a significant amount. We also have to option to get married in March and save some money. However were in NYC and it can be pretty cold in March. I guess the question should be should I sacrifice the budget and continue in June or should I be smart and think long term as it's just one day and move forward with a March wedding. (Both would technically be a spring wedding)

I would do March. June can get SO hot and humid. I'd rather have it a little chilly than too hot.

I suggest going with March! I lived in New York for years and while the weather in March is wildly unpredictable, you can still plan around it and have a wonderful day. Plus, so many things are going to come up along the way (at least, they have for my fiancé and I!) that make you want to splurge on other things for the wedding that saving some money based on your date really can't hurt. If everyone is local so there aren't any travel restrictions, then even if there was a typical NY March blizzard, it wouldn't prevent guests from flying in.

If is for budget reason then makes sense to go with the cheaper option. If your family is from NYC then they’re use to the cold and March is towards the end of the winter so they’ll be used by then. Keep in mind if you have an outdoor wedding prep to add some heaters in your budget as well as a tent in case is need it. If in the end the total with heaters and tent comes the same as June then that’s your choice whether to go with one month or the other. Just remember June is a guarantee price while March is not because you might not need the heater and tent.

March average in NYC is 52° and goes up to 64° for April so you could do a late March to warm it up a good 10° or so and you can do heaters, blankets, a fire, etc all depending on your choices/venue. You could do outside ceremony inside reception so at night when it'll drop a lot it could be warm? Save the money! People living in NY know the weather! Smiley smile
