Dedicated December 2019

Day of Schedule

Briana, on October 2, 2019 at 1:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
I'm thinking I should start putting some thought into the day of schedule soon. We're getting married on December 28th. I'm wondering if you guys could help me get an idea for when I should do what. Like when should hair and makeup arrive? Our ceremony starts at 6-630pm then cocktail hour 630-730 and reception 730-1130. Everything is at one location and I'd like to do a first look as I heard it saves a ton of time and I really wanna enjoy dinner! I have me getting hair and makeup done, 3 getting hair and 4 getting makeup done. Is that a question I ask the girls doing hair and makeup or do I decide when they should come. I'm at a loss at where to start lol no garter/bouquet but doing an anniversary dance and parent dances. Thank you in advance!

So how we figured out our timeline is we told our photographer what pictures we wanted done before the ceremony and she told me what time I needed to be getting in my dress in order to get all the shots. I told my hair and makeup artist what time I needed to be fully ready and getting in my dress and also how many girls I had getting which services. She told me what time she needed to start in order to have us all done by that time. Hope that makes sense!

I figured out reception timeline by thinking to myself that i wanted first dance right away after our grand entrance cus all eyes would be on us ! And then I wanted to give ppl time to eat including myself, so I waited a bit and then did other stuff like tosses and speeches

I would talk to your HAMU artists & photographer. How long does the photographer suggest for the first look, when does she suggest doing it? How long does the HAMU artist need per service?

We figured out our timeline based on what pictures we wanted, when, and with whom! We decided on a first look because we want that first moment to be super intimate, but it is a huge advantage that we can get our couple portraits done beforehand. This is a rough draft of our day of timeline with a 4 pm ceremony and 3 girls getting hair/makeup. But for sure ask your photographer! I’m also having a DOC and this is what she recommended:
10: arrive to venue (eat and relax)
    11: Start hair/makeup
    1 pm: photographer arrives
1:30-2:15: girls and mom/boys and dads pictures (2 shooters will be there)
2:15-3:30: first look, couple portraits, private vows (several locations on site)
3:30 bride and groom are hidden
    4: ceremony start
    4:30-5: family pictures
5-6: outdoor cocktail hour with passed appetizers
6: grand entrance & first dance
6:20: Buffett dinner served (thank you speech)
    7-8:30 open dance party
7:10 bride and groom sneak out for sunset pics
8:30: cake cutting and ice cream bar
    8:30-10 open dance
    10:30 send off
