Day-of Getting Ready Expenses

Zoe, on September 18, 2019 at 11:18 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I am starting to budget the expenses for the day-of and I would like opinions as to whether I am providing enough for the bridesmaids. We will all be getting ready in a hotel suite and we will need to start hair and makeup around 8 am and leave the hotel at 1:30. I was planning on providing coffee, juice, champagne (& claws lol) and then I'm ordering a hoagie tray with sides around 11 and will also buy chips and other snacks.

Should I also be providing breakfast as well? Out of 11 bridesmaids 5 are staying at the hotel the night before and I thought we could just get the continental breakfast but is that rude to not provide food for the ladies not staying at the hotel?

I would provide a little something for breakfast, muffins or bagels for example. You will want your girls to have something in their stomach before they hit the champagne (or claws).

Yes I think you're right - I'll be doing several target runs the week of so I'm sure I can pick up some simple stuff. Thank you!

I was planning on providing breakfast and lunch for all of us who were getting ready together along with drinks, its a nice gesture and we all need to eat! lol. When we had our bridal party meeting I asked my girls what they wanted for breakfast and lunch and snacks and whatever and they yelled at me and told me I was not allowed to buy that stuff and they would take care of it. I thought it was common for the bride to provide this stuff.

I’d do a little something just to soak up the coffee/champagne and to have something in case you get snack-y — we brought breakfast (egg “muffins” and fruit) to the salon but we were all starving by the time we moved on to the house to get dressed. I’d definitely go for a fruit platter at minimum and maybe some mini pastries or something . I don’t think you need to go crazy , but I think you’ll find a little something available goes a long way Smiley smile

I would do breakfast as well! We had a similar timeline and I did the same as you for lunch but for breakfast I picked up some muffin and fruit trays from Costco!

We provided bagels and donuts for breakfast. My sil's husband picked them up and brought them to us since my sil was a bridesmaid or she would have offered. I would definitely recommend having some for breakfast for breakfast.

Yes, if they need to be there at 8 AM I would provide breakfast. I provided breakfast and lunch and the girls were there from 10-5. I also had extra snacks. I got a selection of breakfast bars, pastries and bagels. Then a fruit tray.

Yes, I would provide breakfast as well. My hotel provided our own bridal suite attendant who provided breakfast and lunch to us. We met at 9 a.m. in the bridal suite to begin getting ready and had a tray of fruit, cheese, and croissants with lots of different teas, coffees, water, juice, and mimosas. Then for lunch they served us sandwiches with more fruit. We had to be ready by 1 p.m. so that amount of food was just enough.
