Day of Coordinator/MC Template

Felecia, on May 23, 2017 at 3:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hello,

I am looking for a template of a form that I could provide my FSIL as she is acting as our Day of Coordinator/MC. I would like it to include all of the vendor's information and maybe even tasks she should be performing. I may end up creating the form or pulling it from my wedding binder, but just thought I'd check to see if anyone has used one.

Thoughts?

It is not a good idea to use family and/or friends to do jobs at your wedding. A professional DOC or MC would already know what they needed to do and would have their own forms and their own methods. I would suggest that you hire a professional and even if your FSIL is a professional DOC/MC that you find someone else. Family shouldn't have to work at a wedding.

Target has a wedding planner for $10, and you could take those pages out and give them to her.

Also, Google Sheets has an awesome wedding planner template, and you could give her those pages.

I typically just do a Google Docs and use my own Google Sheets form for contact information.

Please don't make your vips work on your wedding day.

    Yikes

There is a reason I'm paying someone to do the job...

OP, I mean this in all seriousness and I don't mean to sound bitchy

If your FSIL was in any way qualified to do this - ie a professional who is paid to regularly do this - she'd probably have the template you need or a basic list of tasks she would do that day that you could build off of.

The DOC & MC are literally 2 of the most important people involved in your day besides the officiant. They coordinate so much and keep the day moving smoothly, and I couldn't imagine having someone who isn't a professional doing either of those things.

Unless this is your FSIL's job (and I'm not going to get into the friendor or working family issue) please hire a professional.

Yeah see, this is why you pay someone who knows how to do this.

I would just google what your looking for. Im sure you will find a ton of info there. Now If your FSIL is a pro then you may not even need any of this, however if she is not I would probably look into hiring a pro since trying to act as both the MC and DOC is a lot for one person especially if they have 0 experience.

MAMW really nailed it. This is not a job for the faint of heart, honestly. A real pro knows what has to be done and when to do it, and I doubt even a pro would take on DOC and MC duties combined; it just does not make any sense. It's like having your caterer officiate. This is why they charge what seems like a lot; your average modern wedding day has a gazillion details and timestamps

Your SIL should be a guest. Hire two pros.
