Hi,
Anyone have experience with day of coordination services. What did they do specifically for you, how much did it cost, was it worth it? Drop the deets please!!

We hired our DOC for $1300 in the Cincinnati/Dayton, OH area. We’ve had bi-monthly meetings to touch base on where we’re at with planning and she’s given us vendor suggestions. She also has an entire shop full of decor, linens, etc. that we can borrow for no charge. This service I wouldn’t necessary expect from most DOC’s, I think ours just goes above and beyond. Her contract says that she can be present for a rehearsal, however, we aren’t having one. She will arrive around the same time as us the morning of the wedding with her 3 assistants. We chose a DIY package through our florist, so one of the assistants will stop at our florist to pick up all of our flowers on the way. She will coordinate all of our vendors, set out breakfast and lunch for the BP, and do all of our setup and tear down.

We paid about 2000 for ours in the Charleston area. She has been very helpful. She has talked to vendors for us and she getting the whole wedding to go together like the table cloths matching the theme of the wedding. Overall, I am happy to have her so I don’t forget anything. Our venue said we had to have a wedding planner and we didn’t want to hire a full package so we went for doc.

My wedding is in Greensboro, NC and we paid about $500. She will run the rehearsal and the wedding, set up my centerpieces(the venue sets up everything else but we didn't go with their centerpieces) clean up if needed but the venue does that as well. Keep the time line, reach out to all my vendors ahead of time to make sure everything is good to go. And will be turning away anyone that did not RSVP and anyone that trys to bring their kids in

I knew I wanted at least a DOC when we started this process - it seems like it would be very stressful to have to manage your own wedding with all the details especially on the day of.

Our venue has a coordinator that "comes with it" I guess, but we had already started working with our other planner and are more comfortable with her so we're keeping with her. Her total cost will be $1,300 (Northern VA area, so that's a great price here.) I just like that she's down to earth, not like a perky cheerleader type - she's kind of a drill sergeant so I feel like she'll keep our bridal party/ family in line to keep everything moving smoothly.

Obviously won't know until the day of - but I hope this will take a weight off my shoulders to know things are being handled the way that I would want it done, without me having to do it.

Smiley laugh The venue has a hostess at the door but I told my DOC's one of them needs to be there and if the person did not RSVP that means there is no seat for them and I don't need the venue trying to charge my card for extra people. We have already paid for the venue and catering in full months ago. So I do not expect to be hit with another bill later on. Also I'm getting married on NYE and I want my reception to be a party so no kids will be allowed

Dang, so how did you do the count months ago? Mine said they will need count like 30 days out or something, so I was going to have the deadline be maybe 45 - 60 days out to give time to hunt down people and/ or invite more of our friends after the family no's come in.

Do the guests have to bring like a card or something? or just check the name off a list at the door? I have so many questions. I'd planned on doing assigned tables, so I figure we'd weed people out that way since there literally won't be extra chairs - and my petty self I do plan on asking for the place cards that aren't taken (no shows). Yall are off the holiday card list for like 3 years - your seat is ~$120.

Sounds like you're having a great party!

My day of coordinator was referred to me by a friend and she’s so far the best decision we’ve made!!!! I am a bit of space cadet so she’s been a god send in organizing all of our wants and wishes for the big day. We’re $675 for the day of coordination but she is also a florist so she’s taking care of the wedding party bouquets etc and designing our wedding arch for another $800 ..about $1500 total for those services which isn’t too bad. I’m most impressed with her venue layouts she’s drafted via PDF with a full lay out and design of how we want everything to look. All in all totally worth it and in my opinion...definitely necessary

Well we just went a head and paid for 150 people. We invited about 175. The venue doesn't need the count until Dec 20 But I made the RSVP by Nov 15. After that we'll add more friends if we can based on the amount of declines or we will go ahead and pay for the additional 25 people. But the venue has two venues one upstairs and one downstairs we took the downstairs venue since it has more of a club vibe. and a waterfall when you get off the elevator. But when you first come into the venue there are elevators and attendants that take the guest up or down depending on which venue they're going to. Then after they get off the elevator one of my coordinators will be there and will check their names off the list that I will have in alphabetical order so it's easy to find their names. and let them into the venue for the ceremony. Then for the reception we will have escort cards for assigned tables but not assigned seating. But I didn't think about the no shows. I may steal your idea and ask for the cards as well lol. I have added some pics of the venue and my colors are black white and gold so it will be set up similar ro this

Ah got it, that may be the same with us. We agreed to 100 minimum, but we don't have to pay anything until it is a lot closer.

Very nice place, and love the colors!

I do ! I only hired mine for two hours so he can do the set up portion. My schedule was tight. 5p ceremony but the reception venue didn't let us go in til 430p for set up and my reception was to begin at 6p. So I had him go there while I was at ceremony to set up my reception.

Following!! The church we are using for the ceremony has a go to coordinator who can coordinate the ceremony + reception. I am meeting with her in a few days and I dont really know what to expect. She wants to know what services I actually need, lol but I don’t exactly know what I need.

Park City Ut, I have a DOC that has taken over wedding deets since Aug 1 and will do all wedding design set up and breakdown, even picking up some of our rentals. All for $665. Highly recommend, she’s making everything so much less stressful.
