Day of coordinator

I'm trying to decide if I need one. Anybody had a successful wedding without one?

I got one but only for two hours to set up my reception while I was away at the ceremony. So I think even if I didn’t get one all I’d do is have a large gap in between to set up myself. So the rest of the time I just coordinated it myself

My wedding planner was the best money I spent on my wedding. She has been amazing. I would not have a wedding without a day of coordinator or wedding planner. I want to be able to relax and enjoy my day! Not stress about details.

We hired a professional decorator. I'm just wondering what else they do if you don't need them to decorate/ setup.

Do you mind telling me what all she took care of for you to make your day run smoother?

They could be the point of contact for set up. That’s what they also did for me since I had cake from the bakery coming along with the photo booth and dj needed to know where to set up

I have a wedding planner so she does everything. Coordinates with vendors, set up, clean up, keeps schedule, helps with budget, designing the look, place cards, RSVPs, program design, comes up with the timeline for the day. She literally does anything I ask and has made my wedding zero stress. At my last meeting with her, she did an full mock-up of all the table settings/center pieces in the venue, because I was having trouble visualizing it.

My best friend just had a day of coordinator. She was at the venue early and did all the set up. She made sure vendors were on time and in the right spot. Helped the day flow smoothly and on time. She also helped with clean-up. It allowed us to enjoy the day without dealing with the details. You basically have someone to execute your plan with a day of coordinator.

My venue comes with a day-of coordinator. If it hadn't, I would have hired one. Worst experiences at weddings have been when nobody is taking charge and has the plan. Then the Bride ends up being stressed or family has to take over. Is that an issue? Depends on your family. But as someone who has been in the bridal party and family during these kinds of weddings, it's horribly stressful and takes a lot away from the day.
