Day of coordinator

Christina, on September 24, 2019 at 10:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Just trying to figure out pros and cons to day of coordinator. My venue doesn’t offer one. A lot of what we’re doing is DIY. Anyone have experience not having one and if so, howd you do it?

I initially decided not to and then I realized the logistics of my wedding meant I didn't really have time to set up the reception so I opted for one. They do the set up for you if you don't have time to but they also cost money.

I literally don’t see any cons. It will be worth every penny

We have a DOC who comes with our venue and frankly she is worth whatever her built in cost is to our wedding package. If the venue had not come with a DOC I still would have booked one. I do not want myself, my maids, my mom or our family setting up and organizing/running our wedding day/weekend. I wanted our event to be one we can all enjoy together and spend the time together doing family things and not setting up candlesticks.

We have one and he is worth every penny. he will be taking care of all the set up and making sure everything runs smoothly all day for us. keeping our other vendors on track as well as us. he has been nothing but wonderful, and i would pay him whatever he asked.

We have a DOC and, logistically, I don't see how a wedding can work without one. They help with set up, getting people where they need to be on time, and are/can be day of contact for your vendors, etc. DOC's typically are not too expensive and I think are worth the money.

Most DOC's are really "month of" coordination, and the ones that come with the venue are only venue coordinators. They work for the venue, not you. They won't be the one to get you a tide pen if you spill wine on your gown. That being said, a true DOC is worth their weight in gold. The video below sold me on getting one myself.
