Hi! My fiancé and I have postponed our NYC wedding to August 2022 and I am slowly starting to think about remaining vendors that we haven’t yet booked—one of them being the Day of Coordinator. I am a huge planner and absolutely love organizing all of the details! I am the go-to planner among my family and friends! That being said, I know how important a DOC is. I am planning to handle all of the details and final items leading up to the wedding, but on the wedding day, I would want someone to manage the timeline, manage vendors, organize minimal decor, make sure ceremony/intros run smoothly, and possibly work on the tear down after the event. My venue has a venue coordinator, but they are just in charge of the venue operations so I definitely want a DOC! I’ve browsed many planners on WeddingWire and my venue’s preferred vendor list but was curious if anyone had an personal NYC recommendations or if not, can share their wedding location, DOC price and what services they include for that price! I know how important a DOC is but want to gauge what would be reasonable for us. I’ve gotten many $3k+ quotes so I’m hoping to find someone I can get a more custom package for that truly only includes “day of” services. Thank you!!
I am in the same situation you are in. I am a big planner and only looking for day of services. I have held multiple calls with day of coordinators in NYC and price range is really all over the place. I have seen some as low as $1k and others over $10k. I am still undecided on my final day of coordinator so I will be following this forum to see if any one has any good recommendations.

No, our venue laid out the venue coordinator responsibilities and they are very different from that of a DOC. I think that is pretty common in venues that are not all-inclusive. The venue coordinator can receive your vendors but besides that is only responsible for making sure the venue is open and clean, and that the facilities are cared for (bathroom, other areas, etc.). They just care for the venue so are not at all involved with running the event (timeline, communicating with vendors, setting up minimal decor, running the day, etc). I really wish our venue did include it because it can potentially be a pretty big (but necessary) additional expense.
