Day of Coordinator? Is it necessary?

Did you use a day of coordinator? Or did you do it yourself? Did you have a family member help you? I am having a fairly large wedding, and I am incredibly nervous about everything getting done while I am getting ready.

So my wedding is not for two weeks and we have a relatively small crowd. I do not have a DoC, but the event planner from my venue is awesome about covering all the little details I may not think of, and my bridal party is here to help. I think it is helpful to have an itinerary for the day of, and to assign little duties to your bridesmaids to help you out. For example, I am having my MOH and bridesman do the walk through as soon as we get to the venue rather than myself, because I don’t want to stress about it, and they have an eye for that type of thing. As long as you have help and support for the day of, you should be good to go!

I will be using a day of coordinator for my wedding. I tend to micro-manage things and get easily stressed, so I want to make sure I have a professional there that day to take care of all of that for me haha.

We did not go with a DOC because all the quotes we got were outrageously expensive & our guest list was fairly small at 50 people.
As long as you have help from family and friends and have a game plan you should be just fine! My mom and I were able to get in and set up early in the morning, way before we started getting ready so everything ended up working out perfectly!

Yes. Hire a wedding planner. It’s your day to relax and enjoy (that goes for your family/friends as well). I’m a true believer in hiring professionals to do their jobs (not the inexperienced).
