Day of Coordinator Cost

Megan, on May 8, 2018 at 10:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hey all! I am trying to lock down a DOC in the Washington, DC area. Do you have any people that you know/like and what did your DOC cost? ...The pricing out here seems high ($2500/day). Thanks!

This does seem quite high, however it is all relative to the location. I am getting married in the Knoxville/Gatlinburg area, and most are around $500 for the day. I am sure the average cost of a wedding is also higher in DC than in that area as well. Have you joined any local Facebook groups? I found some amazing vendors on mine that I didn't see on this or other bridal sites.

I know that area's COL is higher than here (Orlando, FL) but the average price of a DOC here is 900-$1700, with some offering some small details over others but mostly the same thing. Ours was $1500 but I waited and booked her at a bridal expo for $1000. She took over the final details and vendor communications about a month prior to the wedding.

I'm getting married in Charlottesville, and am using Colleen Miller Events, and am paying $2,500 for month of coordination services. They do travel so you might want to look into them.

My coordinator was $500 but she's actually doing partial planning not just day of. I too am in the DC area.

I'm in Denver, I got quotes that were all over the place. Some at $300 and some up to $5,000. It totally depended on their services and their experience. I opted for the ones who did more of a "month of coordination" and had some kind of formal training. So that put me in the $1,000-$5,000 range. I found a coordinator for month of for $1,150 and she includes contract review. But I got quotes from around 20 DOCs before I decided!

We are getting married in SC (I live in Richmond though). Our coordinator does doc for $900, then goes up if you include design. Be careful to note I'd the are designers or coordinators, as designers cost more.

That seems high. Anyway you could hire someone from VA, MD, or DE and just pay their travel costs? I've seen a lot lower in DE.

I’m in the DC area, and that seems high to me. We booked ours for $1250 (but she really only is there the week of, doesn’t do any other planning). When I was looking around, I was seeing quotes between $1000 and $2000. I would say $2500 is only reasonable if they are helping you the whole month of.

I'm in south central PA and booked a DOC that's just starting out. She was running a promo and we got her for 8 hours for under $300 - a fantastic deal!! I realize other areas of the country are more expensive, but if you put your trust in a newbie, perhaps it could be a lot more reasonable in cost.

That's the going rate in DC. I am using http://www.all-in-events.com, let her know her July 14th client sent you and she may give you a steal. She is fabulous. She is literally just a DOC for me as I'm a DOC and planner and found her so my team can enjoy.

Im in MD my DOC ( The Willow weddings and events) she’s charging me $600 because my wedding is less than 100 ppl but if it were over 100 it would be $1200. But she literally really does more than just a regular DOC we have been working since she was hired. Giving me ideas and checking in on me with my progress in the planning. I couldnt be happier. But I have gotten quotes for up to $2500.

Mine is up and coming. I hired her for $475 about two months ago. She is now booked every other weekend through August and charging $550. She advertises herself as a DOC but she offers services that a month of coordinator would.

She'll probably be upwards of $1000 by the time my wedding rolls around.

So glad we got her now so she has two years to get the hang of everything.

We are getting married in hawaii too and our DOC with assistants and coordinating a month before is about $5000. We also have a very large guest count which made the price a little higher.

Yeah I got a "locals" discount, on top of a small wedding discount (31 guests including myself and FH) congrats on coming here to get married! Hawaii is a beautiful place, I'm lucky to call it home

Yeah we have 450 on our list now which makes it pricey. We are from hawaii but thank you for the good wishes, you're right it's an awesome place to live.

I would look at the MD or VA metro area most travel frequently to DC and the average I’ve seen is $1500 for day of services
