Day after wedding- Sleep or Brunch??

ZimWifey, on October 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM

Happy Thursday WW! So FH is very excited to have a brunch for OOT guests the day after our wedding. I'm not against it, but I know I'll be super exhausted. Has anyone done this- pros/cons? And most importantly who usually pays the bill? My poor budget is already crying.....

We did a farewell brunch at our DW. There were a variety of sit down and eat items as well as grab and go for those who had to catch flights along with a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. It was a nice way to say goodbye to everyone and thank them again for making the trip. It was around $3000.

We're doing one. It is a DW and I have a feeling we will not see many of these people for a long time so it will be a nice sendoff.

I am doing a brunch for my out of town guests, I wanted to show my appreciation for them travelling so far. Also most of them are family so I will get to spend a little more time with them. I am hosting.

We had a Friday wedding. We didn't have an official brunch, however the majority of our guests stayed at the resort in the ski town (only option really) where the wedding was held. We received texts messages from friends the next morning asking if they would see us at brunch (at the hotel) we went down and mingled but everyone paid for their own meals.

We did have an open house later Saturday afternoon - very casual - Costco pizza, wedding cake and left over booze from the reception. It was really nice to have people drop in and spend more time with them!

MIL and FIL took us and all of the OOT people (all from their side) that stayed in the hotel out to brunch the next day. We were STARVING so it was amazing haha. Honestly we didn't sleep in much. We were up earlier than everyone else the morning after!!

We're doing a breakfast the next day with family/bridal party only. At one wedding we went to, the groom's parents hosted a breakfast in the hotel the next day with an omelet man, food and lots of pastries. Another wedding we went to, they couple just used a private conference room and served the free hotel breakfast. It wasn't the fanciest thing ever, but it was nice to see them. No one cared! Do what you want/what your budget allows.

We are. We are all going to my moms house the next day. We are getting married in my hometown, FH's parents are 100 miles from the wedding, and FH and I are 200 miles. My mom is buying and making barbeque, we will also have the wedding leftovers.

We're not hosting anything, but its in a hotel, and there are breakfast places nearby, so whatever people want to do, they can, and we will end up somewhere to eat. I think after the reception, your hosting duties should end!

My parents are having a breakfast for OOT guests the next AM. FH and I will be leaving for our mini-moon right after the reception, so we won't be there for it

We are doing a very causal brunch for the guests staying at the hotel and our bridal party. My FIL's are hosting it. And I'm still considering picking sleep over the brunch lol.

As long as I don't have to do any work and I can afford it I'd be fine with a brunch. Like at a restaurant would be perfect.

We have a lot of activities planned before the wedding with OOT guests so we are opting out of the morning after brunch.

We're planning on having a brunch for our family before everyone has to drive home. It's going to be very informal, donuts, bagels and various pastry's along with coffee and tea. FH and I are staying at the resort for a day or two after the wedding, so we'll still have some relax time.

We're most likely opting out because of the budget. A lot of the weddings I have been to recently haven't done one. The only one I remember that did was because all guests stayed in a hotel that offered free breakfast so you just went at the time the bride and groom were there.
