I agree with PP that they are more "sale-focused" and will do everything to convince you to get the dress. I had a mostly good experience. She measured me and told me and the people I brought along to choose a few dresses we wanted to try on first. She actually was the one who chose the dress I chose which I loved and my mother loved so much it made her cry immediately.

I didn't have the intention of going in buying something that day. I just wanted to try styles but she convinced me to get it since there's always a chance the dress may sell out and not be there when I go back. She also brought out a veil and headpiece to add on to the dress I decided to buy. DB does have good sales and there definitely are lot of options usually.

I think it depends on each store separately. It doesn't hurt to at least try it and see. You dont have to go with them to buy if you don't like anything.

My experience with David’s was a great one. I scheduled my appointment for an early Saturday morning and my consultant was fabulous. She came over to introduce herself and told me she was just finishing up with her first bride and told me to take a look through the dresses and try to pick 3 or 4 I liked. So I picked out my dresses and she got me undergarments to wear and pulled dresses based on the sizes I told her. She listened to what I had to say and wasn’t pushy at all. She also picked dresses similar to what I had picked out to try on as well. I was her only bride at that time slot, though I’ve heard that some consultants have multiple brides at the same time. She helped me get in and out of every dress as well so it was a great experience for me. But as someone else said before, you have to keep in mind that this isn’t a boutique so the experience may not be like what you see on Say Yes to the Dress fully. We still managed to have an absolutely wonderful time and I got a beautiful dress.

I had a very positive experience at David's Bridal. i also didn't want to spend a lot on a wedding dress and they had a lot of beautiful options between $500-700 that i loved and tried on. i really think it depends on the location and if you get a good consultant. the lady I had was very lovely and honest about what flattered me the best and took her time to help me find the one. I also didn't feel like she pressured me at all.
