My FH and I are planning to elope in the fall (just the two of us, ceremony on the beach) and while I was casually looking for a wedding dress at David's Bridal, I found the absolute PERFECT one. We are going to elope while we take our annual beach vacation, usually sometime around late September/early October. Well, after I knew I it was my perfect wedding dress, the consultant (who was wonderful) tells me that it's a special order dress and it will arrive by October 4th at the absolute latest. I was absolutely floored. 5 months for a dress just to be produced?! And that doesn't even count alterations that it will need!
I have read online that special order bridesmaid dresses have typically come in very quickly, and that the date they give you is the absolute latest it could possibly come in. However, we need to book our travel dates pretty quickly, and were hoping to be on our vacation/elopement at the time the dress arrives.
Does anyone have experience with a special order wedding dress from David's Bridal? I have done lots of googling and can't really seem to find anything about any other experiences.
