Davids Bridal Problems.

WeirdoWithACat, on October 2, 2017 at 1:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hello!

Several weeks ago, I bought a bridal dress straight from the Vera Wang’s White collection from David’s Bridal. Ironically its in my size (size fourteen) and its a ballgown dress. Exactly what I wanted! When I finally paid off my layaway this weekend, I went home (Mistake because I shouldn't have left the store without checking it) and unzipped my dress bag to discover foundation stains on my dress. I don't even wear makeup. I had to go back to the store and they told me they'd clean it, but they should have done that in the first place.

Did anyone else have this problem?

I found some blue thread on my dress. How is you don't see it, when the dress is white.

I had a problem with alterations. I took my ceremony and reception dress there (both purchased from there) to be altered. The ceremony dress needed a bustle, bead check, cups sewn in, and hemmed. The reception dress needed to be hemmed, a bead check, and the sleeves reshaped. I was told when I bought the dress they could reshape the sleeves. The day I was fitted, they set up my appointment for a month later to pick up the dresses. When I got there, the ceremony dress had only had the cups sewn in. Nothing else. The bustle points were only the safety pins to show where they should be. The reception dress had only been hemmed. So... While I tried on the reception dress, they finished my ceremony dress. (Again, they had the damn things for a month). Then I noticed nothing had been done to the reception dress except for the hem. Chunks of beads missing, sleeves not altered. That's when they told me they couldn't reshape the sleeves because it would alter the design of the dress (mind you, the alterations had already been paid for in full). So, the department head took back my reception dress and told us to come back in an hour after they did the bead check. We got a call almost as soon as we left the store, telling us to come back in a week because of how many beads were missing (!!!!!!). I then had to take the dress to another place in my hometown (the closest David's Bridal is an hour and a half to two-hour drive) to get the sleeves shaped! So, moral of the story, be careful with their alterations department! Cleaning or altering! They also said they would steam my veil... but I'm not sure that happened, either.

Yeah I skipped out completely on their alterations department because when I went in to go get it done they gave me a receipt for almost $500! They weren't doing anything to the damn thing so I took it to a little place in my hometown and I had them alter it. They only charged $200.
