I have no dress to return, it was cancelled. That's what gets me.

Oh that's even worse. Maybe try talking to a different store? I went to one DB, and they were very by the book and suffocating and tried to pressure me into buying a dress I didn't even like just to make a sale. Another one I went to was amazing - the manager and consultant handled everything wonderfully. Night and day honestly.

I Deffinately am going to reach out to corporate, any way I can, instead of talking to their computer. This is wrong.

Oh no that really sux.... I need to exchange my granddaughters jr bridesmaid dress because we were suppose to get married mothers day weekend and postponed to June 20th and with these kids out of school I don't think she'll fit her dress in another five weeks... I pray they don't give me any hassle.... I'm so sorry that you're going through this as if COVID-19 isn't enough... David's Bridal need to make it right with you.

Yes I was going to return a dress for someone in my bridal party but once their store in your area opens , you can only return in the store 14 days from when you bought the item online. It's weird but I doubt they're going to change their policy.

Oh wow can’t believe they changed their return policy. I had made my purchase back in Feb and picked up my dress 2 days before they closed down all the stores and I couldn’t make a return so I contacted them via text message and the lady told me I was golden, I will still have the 14 days to return it once the store reopens. I’m in California and the store where I purchased from is going to reopen on June 1st. I’m going to take it in and ask for a full refund! They cannot just change their return policy like that! I don’t need a store credit, I need my money back!!! Especially around this unusual time, you think they’ll be more understanding. If they refuse to issue a full refund then I will dispute with my credit company, I still have the text conversation between me and the nice lady I texted with. So that’s in writing. I hope you get your full refund, so wrong of them.

The more I hear about Davids Bridal the more I am so glad I didn't go through them. This is so awful, and is such an awful time in general. There is no reason for them to be doing this. I hope it works out for you dear.

I am in a similar situation that I just posted about in the forum. I bought a couple dresses online while stores were closed with the intent of returning them when the stores reopened. My local store doesn't open until June 1, so I made an appointment for June 6 to return them/try them on with the consultant. I can't get through to customer service by phone or text. I did find an email address: ***************@***.***.

I have a screenshot of the return policy from before they changed it. Hope it helps!

The same thing has happened to me! I have a dress that I’m not in love with, due to a mess up of my first dress that was perfect, by David’s bridal. I called last week and made an appointment to try on other dresses because of their exchange policy. Was called on Monday and was told I was no longer allowed to exchange my dress because the changed their policy. So now I’m stuck with a dress I don’t like and I don’t have the money to go somewhere else and buy. My receipt and contract only say to visit the website for the return/exchange policy. It’s not an okay business policy. If they had changed their policy to start with purchases made on Monday going forward, okay. But they should still honor their commitment to other brides before the policy changed.

Yeah I used to work at David’s Bridal and they are really shady when it comes to sales practices. They routinely told us we could lie to customers to get them to buy a dress. I guess this time is really starting to show peoples true colors. Calling your credit card company to dispute the charge may help. I had to do that after I ordered my wedding ring, they didn’t ship it on time, and I didnt get it on time.

They dont answer their phones anymore. You are forced to use the text system. I have decided to longer deal with them or the stress, handed it over to a lawyer.

Right after I bought my dress, I thought to ask about returns/exchanges.....they said no returns or exchanges allowed. Not David's though, USA bridal. At least it's good motivation for me to not gain weight!

Hey have you gotten any headway on this? I follow them on social media and there are many many brides having the same issue. Some brides were told the week before the store opened that no problem they could return once the store opens. Then they came into the store and they were told that they actually couldn’t return anymore. Supposedly David’s Bridal changed their policy on 5/16 right before they reopened. I would post on their social media and see what they say, they do respond fast. If they are refusing to send you a refund contact your bank. File a chargeback with them saying you never received the dress. Your bank should reach out to DB and obviously they won’t be able to prove that you received a dress since you did not and then should refund you.

No head way, no response from their corporate..I have tweeted and facebooked, no response. I have contacted a lawyer who will be contacting the Attorney General. I have also contacted my bank. Luckily the dress wasn't overly expensive, less than 500.

Good, they shouldn’t get away with that. It’s really happening a lot! On Facebook i see a lot of comments on their posts from other brides that have the same experience!!! It’s disgusting that they changed their policy like that. I think contacting a lawyer is great. I wonder if all the brides get together if you could file a class action lawsuit
Anyways I hope you get your money back

If you paid for a dress but they did not give you the dress then why are they not refunding you the money. I can see if you had the dress in your possession and then wanted to return it, but to not have the item nor the money to me is unacceptable. I would fight that one until they either refund you or give you the dress. PS: I know you cancelled it but that shouldn't give them the right to keep the money without giving you the item.
