It cut off. They said inhad to wait until they reopened to get my refund. They called today to say I could only get a store credit. They would no longer give me a refund.

If you have something in writing from them stating their policy, I would recommend trying to dispute the charge for the dress with your credit card company. They can't retroactively change a return policy like that (at least not legally).

I’m not sure how David’s Bridal work, but did you sign a sales order/contract when you ordered your dress?

When I purchased my dress, it had explicated stayed all the terms in my contract. If you have a signed sales order with the terms and condition of returns, they should honor that.

Soooo long story short, same instance with me, two days ago I called about returning something and asked if still qualified for a refund back to my card. They said absolutely, I went there today and they said the policy changed that day and wouldn’t give me my refund!! Luckily, what I was returning only cost $150 but I can’t imagine for people with larger purchases!!!

The lady working ended up quitting when I was there because she said she can’t deal with all of this (tons of people were there, really frustrated by the situation) and she agreed it was so wrong. She told me to callCorporate and complain to them and post on social media to them as well.

The lady that called me was super sweet about it, and you could tell that it was upsetting her as well.

Wow I'm really glad I ended up not ordering anything from David's Bridal!! Before I decided to postpone my wedding, I was looking to online shop for my bridal accessories like shoes and a veil. When I read David's Bridal's return policy, I thought it was great that I could order 2-3 different veils and decide which one I liked more and return the others. I didn't make the order because I postponed, and I'm so glad I didn't!! That's really awful. Definitely report it far and wide!!

Also, you can click "edit" for your post and continue with your statement if you want. I think it's worth sharing with the larger community of brides.

That's what's probably going to happen to me. I ordered my dress from them in March, was supposed to pick it up in April but due to the Coronavirus I couldn't. And I decided I didn't want the dress anymore and was wondering if I could get my money back. But for me a store credit wouldn't be a problem because I'm getting married in August of 2021.

If you have it in writing, you should be able to dispute it with the credit card company or DB themselves. Good luck!

A friend told me about wayback machine. Where you can get cache of the website. Go back to the date of purchase to see what the return policy was that day. They have to honor that.

    David's bridal debacle. 1
I am on David’s bridal website right now and this is what it say. I feel like they should honor it especially if this is what their website is currently stating as of 5/17/2020. I had a bridesmaids dress that I had to return due to the couple opting for elopement instead of ceremony. I went into the store this last Thursday and they did the return for me no problem! I hope this information helps!

That is insane. I follow them on Insta, and they're pretty good about replying to comments on there if nothing else. Twitter too is a pretty good way of getting ahold of someone. If you have trouble with that DB, go to another one or call and see if you can mail it back? That all seems kind of nuts. Good luck!
