Davids bridal alterations

Katie, on May 24, 2017 at 3:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

I'm just wondering if anybody has experience with alterations at davids bridal. I'm wanting to know if I should go to smaller shop or davids bridal. My dress needs the whole top part redone. Thank you for opinions

I'm picking mine up tonight! I'll let you know, they had to add a corset back to mine and remove the zipper along with adding the bustle. My mom had her alterations done there and they were great.

I have not done anything through David's bridal, but my sister got a dress from there and added sleeves to it. It was different than what she was wanting/ expecting but she still was content with it. I read on google reviews that the alterations there aren't the best. I suggest you to read those reviews!

I did my alterations at DB. They had to take it in some at the bust, but I had no other work done to it. It cost me $65 and I had it back in 3-4 weeks. It fit just fine and I have no complaints with the work done, but I admit that it was fairly minor work.

From what I've heard DB are somewhat expensive, and can only do certain approved alterations to dresses. As with the consultants at DB apparently the alterations teams vary greatly. The one at my store has absolutely rave reviews about alterations, but I know that is not the case with every one.

Alterations anre't cheap anywhere. I'e priced around in Raleigh b/c I have dress regret. My dress is 2 sizes too big and way too long. I basically wanted to have the whole thing redone and just for taking it in and ding the hem it was $200 - $300, Never buy from a sample sale ugh.

I took mine there and I found the work to be just adequate. They dropped the ball on some finishing details that another seamstress then fixed for me. If I could go back in time I would have taken it to the second seamstress from the start.

I refused to let David's bridal alterations touch my dress. We met with them and there was such a language barrier that I was not comfortable at all. If they ruin your dress they are not responsible.

I would personally go elsewhere. I have not heard many good things about DB.

Not with my wedding dress, but I was quoted $200 for a $100 bridesmaid dress that needed to be taken in the bust. Local lady did it for $25

I know if you don't get your dress from DB they won't touch it. I needed my bridesmaid dress altered before my brother's wedding and they wouldn't take it. I ended up going to a family owned dry cleaners and they were absolutely wonderful!

I don't have anything good to say about Davids Bridal. I would recommend a bridal boutique or a local tailor that does wedding gowns.

Hmmmmm.... Not sure what your budget looks like but for me I had a tight budget with the dress & alterations and David's Bridal is known to be super pricey! I went to a whole in the wall shop and they were extremely affordable!

I only did mine at DB because that's where I bought it and I wanted them to be responsible if something got messed up. They did a good job but wayyyyy over priced! I paid 800ish for my dress, alterations were damn near 500!
