David's bridal alterations

Debbie, on July 26, 2019 at 4:36 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 3
I bought my dress from David's bridal is LIC, Ny. Curious to see everyone's experiences with their alteration department. After reading a lot of DB reviews online I'm leaning more towards my own seamstress.

I want straps added and it needs to get taken in a bit.

    Gorgeous!
I got mine at a pop up sale, so I needed a seamstress, as well. I've got someone in Queens, but she works out of her house, so I don't like putting her address out in public. If you'd like her info, DM me!

Your dress is beautiful, Debbie Smiley smile

If you have a seamstress you've worked with in the past and trust, that's amazing!

Love your dress! I actually used to work at David's Bridals and can definitely say there are pros and cons to using their tailoring. The good thing about using their services is that IF they mess up they are responsible for fixing the problem in any means possible. The cons are that it is pricier than most. The down side to using your own tailor is that if they were to mess the dress up, David's Bridal will not let you return or do any alterations to fix it afterwards so you could potentially have to buy another dress (that's worst case scenario). I think it really just comes down to who you trust the most!
