So I went for my first alterations appointment the other day. My total came out to $535 for all my alterations. This is what I'm having done- shoulders pinned back/tightened, sleeves shortened, adding a lining to the bodice, also had to get my own fabric for that, hemming the front of the dress and adding 3 bustle points to the back. All in all it was a cfb_1487357.jpg

good experience. A little on the pricey side I feel. But the seamstress was knowledgeable and very nice. I'm just writing this for anyone who like me had never been to a seamstress before. And anyone wanting to get an idea of pricing from David's Bridal.

All the bustles actually helped us decide on doing the first look. We were going back and forth about waiting to see each other at the alter and doing a first look. After hearing my dress has that many we decided to not only do the first look but to get at least half of the picture out of the way before the wedding. I don't want cocktail hour becoming 2 because of how long it takes to pin my dress up.

Beautiful dress! I am getting my alterations done at the boutique I purchased the dress at but for reference, I am having cups added, a new modest piece to go behind the corset, and taking in the chest area about 1 inch on either side for $510 including taxes.

Beautiful dress and thank you so much for sharing! I do think its helpful to see what other brides are paying for alterations, as the cost can be so variable.

Thank you! For sure, I've seen many different prices from brides on here. It's nice to see that my price seems to be spot on with everything I'm having done.
