So I went for my first alterations appointment the other day. My total came out to $535 for all my alterations. This is what I'm having done- shoulders pinned back/tightened, sleeves shortened, adding a lining to the bodice, also had to get my own fabric for that, hemming the front of the dress and adding 3 bustle points to the back. good experience. A little on the pricey side I feel. But the seamstress was knowledgeable and very nice. I'm just writing this for anyone who like me had never been to a seamstress before. And anyone wanting to get an idea of pricing from David's Bridal.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I actually feel like $535 isn't too expensive for alterations I would be willing to pay that. I am scheduled to go to my first alterations appointment 8/1 with David's Bridal so it was nice seeing that you had a good experience with them.

Oh awesome! I am definitely looking forward to it. Our reception is 10/2 so I cannot wait for my dress to FINALLY fit correctly. I've had it since February of last year so its about time that I can finally where it now that COVID is more under control

I was too, they're not very forthcoming with the pricing. I didn't think it was too bad. And I'll have the dress back in a month.

My sister in law had the same dress she got altered at David’s bridal as well. She had it hemmed up and a piece put in across the bust. Here was around $350 - $400 for what your having done seems reasonable

My dress costed $600 for alterations. I was expecting $500. But I found out through another seamstress that used to work at Davids that she would have charged me $200. She is doing my mom's dress. She said David's is the worst place to get alterations simple because of the price.

Yea I've heard the same thing. But unless you know someone that knows someone, they've got you by the hairs. I didnt want to have to deal with trying to find someone to do it. I have less than two months until my wedding. So meh what can ya do right lol.

That's what my thoughts are. I was expecting $500 so to pay $100 more wasn't a bother to me. Plus I'd rather have the place I bought it from alter it then someone else. And their seamstress was great. I have a boning put in, in the back, pads in the bra area, taken in a little, a few inches hemmed up in the front, and 47 bustles 😂.
