Dating anniversaries?

Snarky, on September 30, 2014 at 11:47 AM Posted in Married Life 0 50

Do you ladies still celebrate your dating anniversaries or plan to after you're married? This December we will have been together 6 years and I feel like that still counts for something, right? Thoughts?

Most definitely! I don't think we'll go all out since we never really did before, but we'll still celebrate the years together in our own way. Rock on!

Without a doubt! They'll be about two and a half months apart, but meh. We just spend the day together doing some of our favorite things, and will continue to do so after el wedding.

Definitely. We celebrate our dating one and do a extra nice home dinner for our engagement one till we're married.

This past April was two years engaged. This past May was seven years together.

After the wedding we'll celebrate only wedding really since our wedding date is our ten year dating anniversary.

Our dating anniversary is the date right smack in the middle of our birthdays, so we'll definitely celebrate that.

Ours is November 27th - we'll probably still acknowledge it, but won't go all out.

Our dating and engagement date (both 12.30) will be able 2.5 months after our wedding anniversary. I'm not sure if we will do anything for it as we'll be married and that's the one that counts. I honestly never thought about this...

We're planning on celebrating our 10 year dating anniversary in October. It's a pretty big milestone. After that, I don't think we'll celebrate them anymore.

No, we haven't celebrated our "anniversay" thus far, so I don't imagine we'll begin celebrating it after we're married, LOL

6 years definitely counts for something though!

Ours is our wedding anniversary, so we'll celebrate for sure. But I think you should celebrate every meaningful moment. I can't stand people who don't celebrate life and everything we've been given.

    Celebrate girl!

On October 13th we'll have been together 6 years - we're totally going to at least have a date night.

I use any occasion as an excuse for steak.

At the moment we celebrate it, but I think it will just get thrown together with our wedding anniversary during my annual "Melissa's Super Awesome 3 Month Long Celebration" that will happen after getting married. Winter is my favorite time of the year, Christmas my favorite holiday, New Years Day is our dating anniversary (this year will be 4 years!), then my birthday comes along, then four days later is our wedding anniversary, then two weeks later is Valentine's Day, and this year, two weeks after that is our honeymoon, but we usually take a mini vacation at that time every year. My FH said he will finish and start every year off broke just giving me presents. I planned it that way!

We mark our time together from our first date, and that's the date he wants inside his wedding band. The wedding is not the date that marks the beginning of our relationship, so we plan to continue to mark that date as our anniversary, and then we'll have a wedding anniversary as well.

(I've always thought it's unfair that once you get married, you're supposed to pretend that all the time you've been together before marrying gets wiped off the calendar.... I'm just fortunate to have met someone who feels the same!)

Our first date was July 3, so that's also easy for him to remember Smiley smile We've been together 5 years, but only decided to get married a year ago.

Our dating anniversary is the day he proposed and our wedding date. We planned it that way (well I didn't plan the engagement)! Our anniversary was too important to us and we didn't want to change that. We even turned down venues if they weren't available on our date!

6 years is a big deal, definitely calls for celebration. We planned our wedding date as closed to our dating anniversary as possible. Dating 7-23, Wedding 7-26. So it'll always be a celebration weekend for us. Smiley smile
