Dark Green or Cabernet??!!

Amber, on May 23, 2019 at 8:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 39
I have last minute color cold feet. Biggest backlash is that the green isn’t a “fall” color. The wedding is the first week of October.

I love the green. The cabernet is really pretty but I think it's super popular lately and a little bit overdone for fall weddings and kind of expected in my opinion. The green looks really fresh and more unique.

Choose the colors you WANT , not the colors of that match the season. When its all over, you’re left with pictures — what color would you prefer to see? Even if you’re taking outdoor photos and the leaves have turned, green goes nicely with oranges, reds and yellows.

I think that dark green is very fall! I really love the green. Like the others said the cabernet is pretty but everyone does that color. The green you can do some really pretty colored bouquets!

Either option is beautiful but personally I LOVE the green! Just like PPs said, you should be picking the colors you want. Who cares if green isn't a "typical" fall color for weddings? If that's what you feel would be best for your wedding, then go with it! The green will look gorgeous with fall foliage and I like that it isn't overdone!

I absolutely LOVE the dark green. personally. It's such a stunning color and often one that is overlooked. Is green your original choice?

I may be biased when I say cabernet because that's the color I chose, but it is superrrrr pretty. It really comes down to what you want though! The green is really pretty, too. When you think about looking at your photographs years from now, what color do you think you'd be in love with? To be honest, I went back and forth a lot on colors. I thought maybe since cabernet is so popular I would choose something else just to be different, but I love the color so much. Don't think about anything but how YOU feel about it! If the only reason you don't want to go with the green is because you've heard it isn't a fall color, go with the green!!!! You can do any color, it doesn't matter the season...plus I agree with PP's...the green is so pretty for fall Smiley smile

Yes and no. My favorite color is green and I originally thought about green as the dress color but Cabernet (burgundy) is the go to and I wasn’t sure if it would blend well with bright navy. Also my MOH really LOVES the color so I kind of pushed it on the back burner and wanted to make everyone happy. Then last week I was scrolling through Instagram and found the photo of the beautiful couple and woman with red hair and it re-lit that spark and made me start second guessing me original choice of Cabernet and bright navy.

Hi! My wedding is also on October and we chose burgundy since we went with soft colors and wanted a strong one to finish. I would've chosen green but since we have so much greenery (different all), we can't just add more green so we stayed with burgundy. I think both colors fit perfectly under a fall wedding; fall has colorful leaves, it's a colorful time! So I think your choice is excellent PLUS they're both dark colors, both you see during fall time!!!! My flower girl will still be wearing a light green dress, so also, why not both? I don't know anything about weddings but honestly both colors fit great for fall, trust in your gut!! Happy wishes from PR.

Well both options are really beautiful and strong colors. I don't think you can make a wrong decision as both look great with the bright navy suit. If you love both colors, why not as your FS what their preference is?

I vote green! I originally wanted to do the dark green for my girls, but since our venue is a farm with a ton of trees, I was worried my girls would blend in. The green is classic, and an unexpected fall color. I agree that the Cabernet is a little "over done." However, it is your day so choose whatever your heart and vision desire!

That’s just it, everyone likes the Cabernet and my fiancé is one of the people really against the green, but he said whatever I choose he’ll accept.

Our venue is at a farm as well but I think by the time October rolls around there will be more color options in the foliage.

Oh absolutely! I think the green would pop against the fall colors. Our wedding is March 28 in the south, so everything will be bright green by then.

Ahh okay the fiancé being against the green would be the real issue. They’re his pictures too afterall. Does he like burgundy ? Or is he mostly indifferent ? Is he against the green for everyone or just doesn’t like a green tie? As if it’s about the tie and not the dresses, there’s some work around or compromise available

I was MOH in an October wedding where her colors were green and purple and she pulled in some orange accents to make it a little more "fall". It turned out beautifully. I say go green if that's your preference Smiley smile

He likes green but thinks the burgundy will look better with the fall colors. He is also unsure about a green tie with the bright navy suit but I told him we can do a black tie if he likes that more. He isn’t strongly against the green but it’s just he is more set on the burgundy.
