Daddy/Daughter dance song

Megan, on August 13, 2012 at 3:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I really need help finding a song that fits..my dad is my stepfather, who came into my life when I was thirteen.. I'm finding mostly songs that talk about being a baby or real little. A little bit about us, my fondest memory is him playing the guitar for me growing up. He's blind now so it has a place in my heart. we love all gendra of music. I'd appreciate that help! : )

I have not heard the Kenny Rogers one, will definitely give it a listen. love the Brad Paisley one but feel more like it's what my son will say to my fh when he grows up. thank you ladies for the ideas.. and yes my dad and mom loved to sing It's your love by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and I'd sit and listen.. : ) so maybe that might work somehow.

Have you considered asking your step-dad if he has any ideas?

I asked my dad and this was the song he came up with and I love it...cry every time I hear it:

We are using That's How Strong My Love Is by Otis Redding. I think it's great for any kind of loving, supportive relationship.

I second Cydney's suggestion. My dad picked ours and it meant that much more too him.

I'm using my dad and my song from when I was little that he would always play since the day I was born. More than Words by Extreme. Never used to cry to that song until I thought about using it for my wedding. Now I cry every time.

I chose What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong...not really emotional about the father/daughter thing but it is such a beautiful song and could mean so many things.

Hey Megan. This was a big challenge for me. It took me forever to find the perfect song. Then I came across this song by Ray Allaire. And I cried like a baby. I knew it was the one that me and my daddy would be dancing too. Here's the you tube link with the lyrics if you wanna hear it. Good Luck.

We are doing "When I'm 64" originally by the Beatles but I want may use the Julian Lennon version.

Also "Lullaby" by Billy Joel -it makes me cry so I can't use it

"Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins -may just be a father /daughter song in my household but it is still nice.

I'm using He Didn't Have To Be by Brad Paisley. It fits in my situation because my dad is actually my stepdad and it's something that I know my little boy will be able to say to my fiancee eventually.

I am going with Heartland - I loved her first for my Dad

and Rascal Flatts - My Wish for my Step Dad

I like the idea of asking your dad what he wants! That is a nice touch! My dad and i have similar taste in music so im sure he will love it! And with my stap dad, its kinda a means to an end, I feel obligated to include him. I like him well enough but he thinks of me as a daughter and I already have a wonderful dad....

I think the perfect song for you could be "When I Needed You Most" which you can only find at www.weddingmusiccentral.com. It was written especially for a bride and her stepdad and would be a great tribute to him.
