Curious... so I'm taking a poll!

Thanks!

It would depend on which Midwest state. If it was Minnesota (where I live) I'd feel fine going to one. In fact I just went to a grad parent where 100 0r so people came and went and I didn't feel uncomfortable. However, I know Wisconsin and Illinois have seen some rise in cases. Therefore I'd be very cautious about going (i.e. I wouldn't hug as many people and would wear a mask constantly). But that's just me and there are also about 4 months between now and October. So much has changed since March therefore so much can change good or bad by October. Overall I would most likely still go.

Yes, I would go. I have been working from home and could easily do so for 2 weeks afterwards if need be. I live with my fiancé who is not high risk. We rarely have contact with others. Good luck!

I wouldn't go if masks aren't required, then the people who aren't taking it seriously outside of your wedding are more likely to be carrying it into your wedding and infecting everyone else who is wearing a mask.

    I would not.
First of all, I'd very likely have to quarantine coming home from any state outside of the Northeast (I'm in NJ, and we are mandating 14 day isolations for travelers from most places).

Secondly, having lived through a hotspot, I'm not eager to go through/into/near any other hotspots.

Thirdly, I'm high-risk, and I'm not even allowed to return to work, yet, as it's too dangerous even in my city, which is really crushing the curve.

I would be ok with this, however I know people that wouldn't be and are saying they won't be doing anything like this until next year.

I'm in Wisconsin and our wedding is moving forward in August with 160 people invited...so far only 8 people have declined...none due to covid. So I would say yes. But, we are in a low covid county. From the beginning we have had only I think 80 cases and there is only like 7 active cases in our entire county. We don't have much for metropolitan areas here.

You guys are awesome! Thank you all for your input! Obviously each of our guests will have their own personal feelings, but i wanted to get an overall idea of how other people are feeling about larger events right now. This really helped!

I agree!! Close family and close friends! I have cut coworkers and extended family and friends, it’s so difficult and disappointing .

I would definitely attend. I’ll be attending a wedding of 50 on July 18th, and I’m planning to host my own wedding of ~175 in mid-August.

150 guests in early October? Sorry, but I would pass. I think that's too many people to safely social distance in the near future. It also depends where in the midwest--in parts of the midwest all residents are legally required to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning from certain states.

I wouldn't go, but I also don't have much of an idea what things are like in the midwest. I'm in DC where all of my friends (including myself) have postponed our late summer/early fall wedding because it's for sure not safe here.
