Cupcakes or cake??

Cupcakes are easier to serve.

We are doing a small six inch cake on top to cut and save for the one year tradition. We will be the only ones cutting into this. We are ordering cupcakes in 4 flavors. The stand has the cake on the top and the cupcakes below. Four flavors with the icing matching the cake colors. The color of the wrappers is what kind of cake and there is a little plaque going to be in front explaining this. No cake cutting fee from the venue and guests can easily self serve if they want the cupcakes. Our wedding is Halloween, so we also have a candy bar.

I went to a wedding this past weekend and they gave me a piece of cake with no icing. Cupcakes are a sure way that won't happen. Kinda made me mad because everyone said is was very good.

Cake: limited in flavor options, cake cutting fee

The choice is obvious.

I think cupcakes!! You can get different flavors and if people are nervous about it being messy then they can use a fork

Why not both? We are having a six inch cutting cake for us and the bridal party and then idk how many cupcakes but in two flavors. I like the idea of the guests being able to have options without it all being in one cake. Plus that's what our venue offered.

I like the cupcake idea

I love to see a nice cake, but it depends on your budget. My brother had cupcakes for his wedding and it worked out! I am having a traditional cake. It's all about your style.

Cupcakes definitely aren't as pretty or classic, but I've been a wedding coordinator for three years now and cupcakes seem to be a big favorite. You don't have to wait for someone to cut all the pieces of cake and you're able to clearly offer more flavor options... go for it, girl!

COST is definitely a big plus to doing cupcakes instead of cake (like hundreds of dollars cheaper). We've been seeing sheet/tier cakes be upwards of $300-400, while getting 100 cupcakes is $75-100. Love that difference!

Uhhhh cupcakes? I don’t really get having cupcakes at a wedding. I’m all for cakes. I get an included cake in my package. So I just have to pay for extra designs. Cupcakes are something for kids in my opinion like a birthday party. It’s your wedding do what makes you happy.
