I have decided to have regular sized cupcakes at my wedding next year. But I have also committed to having a cookie table! We are shooting for 170 dozen which would be our 'to go' favor and allow each guest (including children) about 12-15 cookies each.

My question would be how many cupcakes should I get in addition to cookies? We decided against a traditional wedding cake because its much easier to just grab a cupcake. Should I get the standard 1 cupcake per person or less? I do not want to have an overwhelming amount of cupcakes go to waste, because well its just like throwing money away.

I have read where some brides purchase 2 cupcakes per guest or only purchase about 75% of their guest list.

Anyone have any experience with this?

No pre packaging just a free for all cookie table haha. That’s how I have always seen cookie displays here in Pittsburgh/central PA Work!

Do not do 2 per person! I jad 5 flavors of cupcakes- vanilla, reeces, carrot cake, salted caramel, and brownie. Our final RSVP was 210-215. I order 275 cupcakes and had a ton left over. I had many people tell me they were going to have all 5 flavors, I was worried. We took them to my moms the next day, sent people home with cupcakes from there, and took them to his parents house the Monday after. Salted caramel was not a huge hit, sent those to the neighbor who plays college soccer.

I ordered my cupcakes from a local bakery, got an awesome price. The most expensive was 2.60 a cupcake, most were 1.50 range. I heard people wanted more but the cupcakes were so rich they could only eat one, which isn't a bad thing.

My cousin did cookies at her wedding last year along with a Smores bar. I sat in front of the Smores bar, and only a few people used it. My aunt said they had most of it left. However, she said no cookies were left. I know I took a few.

No. I literally ran each paper bag through a laser printer and printed right on the bag. I got the lunch bags at the dollar store so total cost was $2. It was very time consuming as each bag needed to be taped on to regular 8 1/2 X 11 paper and then i had to gently remove the tape from each one. Once in a while it would jam in the printer. I would do about 10 a day so it took about 2 weeks for 80 bags. I just started the project early.

If if anyone provides “to go” bags or boxes, don’t put them out until everyone has had ample time to have dessert and only if you have a lot left over.
